CHAPTER 2

This chapter discusses the research design, participants, instrumentation, data gathering
procedure, and data analysis.

Research Design

This study will employ a quantitative descriptive research design. It attempts to collect
quantifiable information for statistical analysis of the population sample.

Participants

This study will be conducted at Marcelo Fule Memorial College located in Alaminos,

Laguna. The target respondents are at least 100 Senior High School Students of the

aforementioned school.

Instrument

The researcher will use a survey questionnaire as the main instrument of the study. The

instrument will be administered to the target respondents after the approval of her research

professor.

Data Gathering Procedure

The research worked on the development of her research proposal which will be

subjected to the approval of her panel. When the proposal is approved, necessary revisions will

be made to improve the study and the questionnaire will be created and approved as well.

Since there is a current global pandemic, the approved questionnaire will be transferred to

Google form to avoid direct contact from the researcher and the respondents. The researcher will
allot paspecify po kung gano katagal ang gusto ninyong iallot for the retrieval of data for the

respondents to answer the questionnaire. After the retrieval of data from the survey

questionnaire, she will then tally and analyze the results.

Data Analysis

In the interpretation and analysis of data gathered from the chosen respondents, the

following statistical treatments will be used to analyze the data:

Weighted Mean will be used in interpreting the data wherein the frequency of responses

for each item will be multiplied by the corresponding weight assigned to each item. The product

of which will then be divided by the total number of respondents to get the weighted average of

that particular item.

Likert Scale is the most widely approach to scaling responses in survey research. It will

use four (4) Likert items for each part of the questionnaire.

Scale in Part I and II: Interpretation

4 – Always 3.26-4.0 = Always

3 – Often 2.51-3.25 = Often

2 – Rarely 1.76-2.50 = Rarely

1 - Never 1.0-1.75 = Never

Scale in Part III: Interpretation

4 – Strongly Agree 3.26-4.0 = Strongly Agree

3 – Agree 2.51-3.25 = Agree

2 – Disagree 1.76-2.50 = Disagree

1 – Strongly Disagree 1.0-1.75 = Strongly Disagree

T-test will be used to get the significant relationship between variables.
