3.0 MODULE POLICIES

2
ASSIGNMENTS
All assignments are to be submitted within the date and time given by your lecturer unless
otherwise specified by the same lecturer.
Late Policy: Late work will be penalized 10% per day, until 5 days from the due date of the
assignment; at that point, late work will NOT be accepted. Excuses such as “I overslept”,
“There was too much traffic” or “The printer wasn’t working” will not exempt you from late
penalties.
Plagiarism will not be accepted. According to the UTech Student Handbook, Plagiarism is
defined as: "presenting any material that is attributable to or the property of another person as
one's own work without acknowledging the source from which the material is taken" (UTech,
JA, 2007, p. 129). This includes:
* copying all or part of another's writings (including copy pasting from the internet)
* changing the words in someone else's work
* using another student's paper as your own
* submitting a paper for more than one class
Plagiarism, either intentional or unintentional, will result in a grade of 0 for the assignment for
all members of the group or for the individual student involved and will be turned over to the
appropriate university source for disciplinary action.
Cheating on in-class tests will also result in the same fate.

IN-CLASS TESTS

 The format of the tests will be multiple choice and will be online.
 Only students who present valid medical certificates within 5 days of a missed test will
be allowed to schedule a make-up.
