Obligations and Contracts

3rd Year AB-Political Science Saturday (2:00pm - 5:00pm)

Activity No. 1
Think of a situation that shows the involvement of state law.

Contract of Sale

Spongebob sold 1 sack of rice to Patrick for P1000.

In this scenario, Spongebob has the duty to deliver his product to Patrick and Patrick has
to pay Spongebob P1000. If Spongebob delivered his product to Patrick and Patrick does not
pay Spongebob P1000, Spongebob has the right to file an action against him. Because he
violates the rights of Spongebob to collect P1000. If we analyze the situation, there are two
obligations the obligation of Spongebob and the obligation of Patrick. The first obligation is
Spongebob(passive subject) has to deliver the sack of rice(prestation) to Patrick(active subject)
and Patrick has to pay P1000(prestation) to Spongebob. And the second obligation will be the
opposite of the first obligation, in this situation Patrick will be our passive subject because he
has to pay(prestation) Spongebob P1000. Now Spongebob will be our active subject because
he is the seller. And both obligations are bound(Juridical tie) by the Contract of Sale.
