NOTA:
Follow the instructions very carefully.

Extreme cleanliness is important when working with the cylinder head.

The cylinder head shall be thoroughly cleaned both on the outside and on the inside before it is reinstalled.
NOTA:
The fixing tools must be used to ensure that the cylinder head is installed correctly. Incorrect cylinder head installation may
lead to engine failure.

Before installing the tools:

Check the tools' straightness by laying them on a flat surface. If the tools are not straight against the cylinder head and/or
the cylinder block, installation of the cylinder head will not be correct, with risk of engine failures.

Clean paint and silicone from the contact surfaces for the tools.

1. Install the fixing tools 9998601 on the timing gear plate and 9998624 on the cylinder block according to figure. Fit
the upper sealing strip on the timing gear plate.

2. Remove the press tools 9996966.

3. Place the cylinder head gasket on the cylinder head. Lower the cylinder head. Do not lower the cylinder head
completely, let it hang a few millimetres over the cylinder block face.
By hand, press the cylinder head forward at an angle so that it is fixated against the fixing tools.
NOTA:
Check that the sealing strip between the cylinder head and timing gear plate is positioned correctly.

4. Install an M10x50-screw in the upper hole on the fixing tool by the timing gear plate to ensure that the cylinder
head has straight contact against the tool.

5. Check-measure with a feeler gauge 0.10 mm (0.0039 in) between the tool and the cylinder head to check that the
cylinder head is positioned correctly. It shall not be possible to insert the feeler gauge in between.

6. Install the cylinder head bolts according to Torques de aperto, cabeçote.

7. Remove the lifting tools and fixing tools.
