The University of Matanzas, governing center in Cuba for the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language,
with a history of more than 30 years in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students from
around 157 countries, invites all interested applicants especially any person who, because of personal or
professional interest, may need to learn Spanish, to enroll in our short courses.
SUMMARY OF THE CV OF THE PROFESSORS
MSc. Milagros Agripina Catalá Llinás
(Associate Professor)
Bachelor in Educa�on, specialty Spanish-Literature. Master in Science, 2006, University of Matanzas. Her
career spans 38 years (23 teaching Spanish as a foreign language and as a mother tongue at the University
of Matanzas, Cuba.) Deputy Director and Methodology Advisor for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign
language in training programs for Chinese students from 2008-2011, and she prepared Angolan professionals
for the defense of master’s and doctorate degrees in the Republic of Angola (2014-2018). Today she is a
professor of Spanish as a foreign language and as mother tongue in the Spanish-Literature Department of
the University of Matanzas. Nowadays, Catalá Llinas is a member of the Reading and Wri�ng Chair of the
University and of the following projects: The teaching-learning of languages and literature in the educa�on
of personality; Pedagogical-methodological model for deepening the knowledge of Spanish as a mother
tongue and for teaching-learning Spanish as a second language at the University (a�ached to the Na�onal
Educa�on Program) and Polifonía Yumurina: Language and Intercultural Communica�on in university
educa�on and in the training of human resources for the local development of city tourism. In the la�er
project, she is the head professor of one of the modules.

MSc. Tamara María Triana Rodríguez


(Associate Professor)
Bachelor in Educa�on, specialty Spanish-Literature and in Transla�on and Interpreta�on in Russian. Master’s
degree in Dida�cs of Spanish – Literature, 2004, Higher Pedagogical Ins�tute “Enrique José Varona”, Havana.
Her career spans more than 40 years (6 as a translator and interpreter of Spanish - Russian, 3 as a teacher of
Russian, 32 as a professor of Spanish as a foreign language and as mother tongue at the University of Matanzas,
Cuba. She worked as a guess professor in Roraima, Brazil (1997-1998) and at the Cuban Consulate in Sao
Paulo, Brazil (2004-2006). Nowadays, Triana Rodríguez is a member of the Reading and Wri�ng Chair of the
University and of the following projects: The teaching-learning of languages and literature in the educa�on
