Bulk Messaging

Gateway

Proactive Communication
to all Customers
As mobile service and handset capabilities become
increasingly sophisticated, end users are looking for eye-catchingand relevant commu-
nications, whether from friends or marketers.

With Bulk Messaging Gateway (BMG), operators take messaging to a new A2P
(Application to Person) level, incorporating multiple forms of content, such as ringtones,
logos, images, video, games and alerts, from multiple content providers, regardless of
whether delivery is via SMS, WAP or MMS messaging.

BMG drives efficiencies in message delivery, by delivering rich content over the
operator’s existing infrastructure. A completely integrated gateway, operating as a
bridge between the network and applications, BMG serves messages generated from
an application to multiple mobile users. In the past year, BMG handled over 5 billion
messages on a single customer installation.

How it Works?
Based on a layered architecture, BMG incorporates:

Service Exposure Layer- Content providers upload content and applications to the
BMG over multiple interfaces, defining delivery specifications as appropriate.
Message Delivery Layer interfaces with operator services infrastructure for the various
types of message transport such as SMS Gateway, WAP Gateway and the MMSC.
Content Provider Management Module- Manages multiple content partner relationships,
governing usage of the BMG infrastructure.
Additional Modules, including billing, OAM and reports, and statistics modules that
control their respective functions.
