Warehouse Team Leader Job Description
The Warehouse Team Lead position assists the Warehouse Shift Supervisor in the handling of
the day-to-day operations for the warehouse facility. Support the Warehouse Shift Supervisor in
the distribution of workload assignments while providing support to other warehouse employees.
Train new hires and ensure understanding of company processes and procedures. Follow
company safety policies and procedures. Will provide high quality service to our customers
through safe, efficient, damage free, cost effective and accurate storage, handling, and shipping.
Job Responsibilities: Must be able to perform all duties with or without accommodation
Responsible for maintaining organization and cleanliness of work areas to satisfaction
Must be able to open and close warehouse
Monitors daily inspections of all warehouse machines and equipment
Coordinates work of Forklift Operators and other operational staff
Train on all warehouse equipment, policies, and procedures and answer questions from
warehouse operational staff
Responsible for warehousing, packaging, and/or shipping of product in a manner consistent with
company service and cost objectives
Identify needs and make recommendations regarding department procedures and policies
Accurately maintains payroll and time data using automated time management system
Coordinates inspection of incoming raw materials and outgoing shipments
Assist with inventory control issues and corrections using automated systems
Cover for all warehouse functions and assist staff when help is required
Complete all required documentation required in the case of accidents, injuries, and identification
of workplace hazards; participate in related investigations
In collaboration with other team leads, ensure departmental key performance indicators (KPI) are
being met, recorded, and shared with management
Provide input on the evaluation of employee performance, recommend employee discipline, and
make promotion recommendations
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree; One year of leadership experience and/or
training preferred. Two years of experience in a Warehouse environment with a good
understanding of warehouse and safety procedures. Forklift Operator Certificate and/or License
preferred.
Physical Working Conditions:
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the warehouse.
Must be able to work in a loud and non-climate controlled environment
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently, use various types of ladders, occasionally work in cramped
spaces
May be assigned to any shift, including weekend shifts
