Risk, as we have studied, is an uncertainty concerning a loss of something, and that something is of

value (like an asset). As it is an adverse deviation of what to be expected as a desirable outcome, risks
can be determined as subjective or non-subjective, or can exist whether or not it is perceived.

Our homes are not an exception to this risk. Five samples of risk in our home includes being electrocuted
when plugging in a charger. As there's always a possibility that things can go wrong when doing this task,
like when the wires cause short circuits, or when the voltage is too high and the charger exploded.
Another risk that can happen at home is being cut by sharp knife when slicing onions. This uncertainty or
adverse deviation has high chance of happening, as knives are really dangerous when handled without
care as they are very pointy, and with our own force, things can easily go wrong. Another electricity-
related risk in home is when our appliances exploded in us due to water being spilled to them. This kind
of risk involves pretty much our human actions, such as when we spill our glasses filled with water, or
when water drips down from an open faucet, or when a glass filled with liquid broke. This risk is always
there, that’s why we always need to avoid bringing glasses or something filled with liquid near our
appliances. A fire-related risk that can happen in our homes is when we forget to turn off our gas stove
after cooking or when we forget that we are cooking something, this might result in a very serious risk of
burning down our own homes, and in the worst case, taking out our lives and our family’s lives as well.
The result of this risk is really severe, that’s why we should always take safety precaution when using
our stoves for cooking purposes. The last risk example that I’m going to give, is the risk of slipping when
walking or running inside the house and may result to a serious accident like banging our heads on the
floor. As our floor, especially when it’s tiled with tiles, are prone to being slippery or when it’s cleaned or
broomed well. That’s why safety precautions when walking/running, and practicing a proper balance or
putting up a sign/telling them that the floor is slippery is necessary at all times.
