Narrative Report on Reading Program Implementation

Grade 2 and Grade 3

First, I initiate to this project reading proposal which is the title “Uplifting Pupils in Reading
Effectivity Program ( UPREP) to have an approval from our principal in Mabatao Elementary School
Ma. Teresa T. Cantos. Then after that I had a request letter to our Barangay Captain Temoteo P.
Abalayan and to the parents who were belong to this reading program implementation project and
noted by the school principal. Based on the result of EGRA-ARATA for Grade 2 and Phil Iri in
Grade 3, I choose those pupils who were belong to frustration and struggling to read. The standard
tool that I used must have a Marungko Approach in Filipino, online reading printable materials and
short stories.

In phase 1, I have to assess the reading level capacity of the pupils through the result of
EGRA-ARATA and Phil Iri. Based on the implementation of this project, I follow the rules and
protocol in our department of education like using in face mask or face shield, used an alcohol before
reading. Some of our parents or guardian agreed from this project proposal program to help their
children who were struggling in reading. The learners were enjoyed and happy that they could gave an
importance of their reading skills problem.

Yes, it really big help to the parents to have this kind of project and to minimize their work. It
was really help to the pupils who have suffering in reading to answer their modules. The pupils
develop and increase their reading skills and continued answering their modules every day or do their
task given by the teacher. The teacher should give a good impact to help the pupils who were
struggling in reading. As teacher, it could really share their learning styles, strategies in reading.
