This is the time of year when we corporately consecrate ourselves, our families, and ministries to God. Believe God for victories and breakthroughs in every area of your life this second half of the year 2021. “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow th@{LORD will do amazing things among you.” JOSHUA 3:5 As a spiritual family, we begin this second half of the year with a season of prayer and fasting. It is our way of humbling ourselves before God and consecrating to Him the remaining months. It is also the time when we corporately come into agreement and believe together for breakthroughs in our personal lives, families, finances, and churches Over the years, as a result of this time of prayer, we have seen YRockers receive healing, salvation, promotion, direction, family restoration, miraculous provision, and tremendous growth in their Life groups and churches. One of the highlights is always seeing and hearing testimonies of how God answers over and beyond what people ask. As you join our #WeekofFire, believe in your heart, by faith, that there is so much more to expect in 2021, God is not done yet! Jesus expected His followers to fast, and He said that God rewards fasting. Fasting, according to the Bible, means to voluntarily reduce or eliminate your intake of food for a specific time and purpose What is the purpose of fasting? It is designed to intensify our dependence on God by weakening our dependence on food and other things bares More than any other discipline, fasting reveals the things that control us. This is a wonderful benefit to the true disciple who longs to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. We cover up what is inside us with food and other good things, but in fasting these things surface. If pride controls us, it will be revealed almost immediately. David writes, “/ humbled my soul with fasting” (Psalm 69:10). Anger, bitterness, jealousy, strife, fear—if they are within us, they will surface during fasting. SN 1. Fasting gives you more time for prayer. You can use the time you'd normally spend eating as time in prayer for what God wants to do among us during #WeekofFire. In the Bible, fasting is always connected with prayer. "While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which | have called them.’ So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” Acts 13:2-3 (NIV) 2. Fasting expresses and deepens our hunger for God. Fasting reminds us that we are sustained “by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God:” (Matt. 4:4). Food does not sustain us; God sustains us. In Christ, “All things hold together” (Colossians 1:17). Therefore, in experiences of fasting, we are abstaining from food or other activities and feasting on God’s Word. 3. Fasting brings revival. Fasting helps us prevail in prayer and intercession. Daniel understood that Israel was headed for destruction. He also knew that in times like these, there is only one recourse—intercession through praying and fasting. Throughout human history, God has brought revival and delivered nations from destruction in response to prayer and fasting. in the first year of his reign, i, Daniel, understood from the scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. so i turned to the lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. Daniel 9:2,3 Often in the Bible, God's people fasted immediately before a major victory, miracle, or answer to prayer. It prepared them for a blessing! * Moses fasted before he received the Ten Commandments. "Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant--the Tem Commandments.” Exodus 34:28 (NIV) * The Israelites fasted before a miraculous victory. "Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Sea. It is already in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi), Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah." 2 Chronicles 20:2-3 (NIV) + Daniel fasted in order to receive guidance from God. "So | turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.” Daniel 9:3 (NIV) * Jesus fasted during His victory over temptation. "For forty wilderness days and nights he was tested by the Devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when the time was up he was hungry.” Luke 4:2 (Msg) Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth and that He will give you the courage to accept and the faith to believe the truth Pray that the truth of God’s word will illuminate to you clearly and transform your perspective and lifestyle. am Pray and rebuke all sins and practices that hinders you to know the truth. Pray that you will be protected against half truth and any false teaching. Pray that you will be delivered from condemnation, lust, pride, homosexuality, and any other sins by the truth of God’s word. Pray that people will accept and be delivered by the truth of God’s word. Pray for a specific person that you know who is struggling with accepting God's truth. Pray that God’s word will become the basis of your commitment, fire, obedience and passion for God not your feelings. Pray that everyone of us will become mature in knowledge of God and will not be easily swayed by hard situations and problems in life. Pray for every YRocker to be restored in their passion and commitment to their ministry ' and service to God
