Cybersecurity is the collection of measures and practices taken to protect computers, networks, programs, and systems from cyberattacks such as malware, denial of service attacks, and data theft. The cybersecurity landscape refers broadly to the state of being protected from cyber threats as well as efforts to implement and improve those protective measures, though it is a loosely defined term. In contrast, the threat landscape provides a well-defined and maintained overview of the most relevant current security risks.

Cybersecurity is the collection of measures and practices taken to protect computers,
networks, programs, or systems from cyberattacks. Such attacks can take the form of malware, denial of service, theft of data, unauthorized access, or tampering of data, and any number of other malicious actions. The Congressional Research Service explains that in addition to measures taken to protect systems from threats, cybersecurity may also refer to the “state or quality of being protected” from threats, or the efforts aimed at “implementing and improving” those measures (McAfee, 2021). The cybersecurity landscape is just a loose term like "cloud" just used to market stuff. The threat landscape on the other hand is a well-defined and maintained library of the "most relevant" security risks (Kurzynowski, 2020).
