1. One Flesh. In the book of Genesis chapter 2 and verse 24, this is the Hebrew term which

refers to and speaks about the oneness between husband and wife.

2. Monogamy. This is the practice of having one spouse or being married to one person at a

time.

3. Polygamy. This is the state or practice of being married to more than one person at a time

or having one spouse at a time.

4. Levirate Marriage. This was the practice done by the Israelites whereby a man was

obligated marry his brother’s widow following his brother’s death.

5. Homosexual. This is an individual who is attracted to someone or individuals of their

same sex or gender.

This chapter of Moral Choices focuses on different types relationships that exist between men

and women. It seeks to show how each of these unions shape the social society in which we

currently live. The teleological perspective on this issue is they are both for and against

marriage, on one hand they say that marriage is an institution for both man and women to exist in

harmoniously for the rest of the couple’s life while they also believe that the union of same- sex

marriage is completely going against God’s grand design for relationships. It is clearly stated

that marriage is honorable and it must consist of one man and one woman and other form is seen
as an abomination in God’s eyes. Rae seeks to make known the various forms of relationships

that exists and what are God’s views on each one of these relationships in the modern society.
