LETTER OF RESIGNATION
I Hon. Progress Ogbokuma Aselemi wish to tender my resignation as the state Chairman of the
African Action Congress (AAC) Rivers state chapter on this day the 27th of May, 2021.
It will be recalled that my journey into the AAC started on Feb 2018 after my engagement with the
Take It Back movement organization from the US whose convener is Omoyele Sowore of sahara
reporters were I served as the Rivers state TIB movement coordinator.
After then the take it back movement now gave birth to the AAC on the 14th of August, 2018 and
the party was officially announced on the 15th of August 2018 with Omoyele Sowore been the
founder and national Chairman of the party.
On the 3rd of October 2018 I was officially elected as the substantive Rivers state AAC Chairman
in the state congress supervised by INEC. Immediately before and after the state congress I was able
to field in candidates for Governorship and House of Assembly in 2019 elections.
I was also able to set up grassroots structures in the 23 LGAs of Rivers state of which so many of
the stakeholders and members got discouraged and frustrated after it became very clear that you
were sponsored by the Rivers state PDP to usurp the then national Chairman of the party Omoyele
Sowore in other for them to use you as a tool to frustrate the election petition cases of your own
party's Governorship Candidate what a shame!
This was further worsen by your open compromise to the PDP as the new national Chairman of
AAC you hurriedly ran to the Rivers state elections petition tribunal to change the lawyer of the
then Governorship candidate Engr. Biokpomabo Festus Awara and brought in a known PDP lawyer
in Rivers state to stand for the party that you also used to frustrate the effort of the party in the state
and her Governorship candidate.

You further went ahead and withdrew the tribunal petitions of your own party AAC in Rivers state
and your Governorship candidate with numerous press releases done by you in favour of the PDP
and against your own party, your shameless actions and greed led to the desertion of the party by
financial members, patrons and stakeholders, you also made us to loss our befitting Secretariat,
party branded cars, other important gains, while you were compensated with the position of IPAC
national Chairman for a job well done in Rivers state.
After you apologized to me via phone call for lying to me, deceiving me and also railroading me
into the role you played for Rivers state PDP in frustrating Rivers AAC effort in the 2019 election I
decided to start afresh to rebuild the party by mobilizing fresh members for the party without any
financial support or contribution from the national leadership led by you.
This drive was further heighten during the just concluded Rivers state LGA election which enable
us to feature candidates across 23 LGAs and to also build grassroot structures cut across the 319
wards with party offices in 19 LGAs even though you were not pleased that we were spreading so
wide and trying to be combative with the PDP that you have so much sympathy for, this gave birth
to the continuous threat by the PDP Chairman that he will ensure that I am removed as the Rivers
state AAC Chairman for refusing to play ball with him and he also went ahead to call you to
carryout the action since you're under their control.
Below are the reasons after wide consultations, I have decided to resign my position.
1. The party does not have the financial capacity, integrity, structures and what it takes to win
an election under your leadership truth be told.
2. I will not be able to meet up with your interest and that of your executives of using the party
for business purposes, I cannot run a political party of being a political party in the day and
an association in the night that goes for state ruling parties endorsement negotiations or for
resource.
3. I will not be able to compromise the interest of the party in my state by doing the bidding of
the ruling party as you have always advised me to go and negotiate with them or asked them
for resources that they promised you and your IPAC.
4. Your refusal to allow our candidates to proceed to the LGA elections petition tribunal with
their own funds without your one kobo after seeing the numerous evidences of the massive
rigging the PDP rigged us during the April 17th, 2021 LGA election was a clear sign of
another compromise after the 2019 experience.
5. Your continuous sympathy and Interest for the PDP will not allow me to carryout my duties
and responsibilities freely as a state Chairman without offending you or spoiling business for
you in my state since gov. Wike, the state PDP Chairman and you have a very good political
business relationship.
6. Since you became the recognized factional national Chairman after your acrimonious
convention in Owerri you have not called for a single NEC meeting and you have been
removing state chairmen at will in exchange for money as alleged.

I will continue my political journey to work for the interest of young people and Nigerians at large
who yearn for genuine political change and democratic processes.
The time I shared in AAC was filled with pains, misery and too many challenges because it was like
a journey of monkey dey work and baboon go dey chop.
When I build you will pass back to go and compromise, frustrate all my efforts and expect me to
come and build again without your one kobo financial support or contribution, you did it in 2019,
you have done it in 2021 and you will do it again in 2023 why waste my precious time on a
compromiser like you.
I wish you well in your compromising political business endeavor and watch how your interest will
help your party grow as a formidable opposition in the country.
