In the letter first read above, the Principal, Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem has stated that their College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore tor the'Course M.E., (Industrial Safety Engineering) with the Students intake strength of (regular, full ime): 18 and (part time) : 02 and he has requested to approve the said course under Factories Act for recruiting their College Students as Safety Officer by the Industries, 2. In the letter 2” read above, the Director of Industrial Safety and Health has stated that the Principal, Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem — has submitted an application seeking approval of the Post Graduate Course ME, (Industrial Safety Engineering) for the appointment of Safety Officers in factories, as prescribed under rule 3(1)(b) of the Tamil Nadu Safety Officers (Duties, Qualifications and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2005 and also stated that they have obtained approval from All India Couneil for Technical Education, for the academic year 2011-2012 and Department of Technical Education, Chennai for the academic year 2011 — 2012 and having required faculty and other infrastructure and laboratory facilities and he has further stated that the copies of the curriculum and syllabus of the Anna University as sent by the Institution has been verified and found in order. 3. The Director of Industrial Safety and Health has also stated that the Directorate of Technical Education has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of Additional Director of Technical Education (Exams) to analyse the curriculum and syllabus of the course. The Committee has recommended that theCourse M.E. (Industrial Safety Engineering) conducted by Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem can be considered for appointment of Safety Officers in Factories. Hence, he has recommended that the request of the Institution for the approval of M.E., (Industrial Safety Engineering) under rule 3(1) (b) of Tamil Nadu Safety Officers (Duties, Qualification and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2005 may be considered. 4. After careful examination, the Government have decided to accept the recommendation of the Director of Industrial Safety and Health. Accordingly under Clause (b) of sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Tamil Nadu Safety Officers (Duties, Qualifications and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2005, the Governor of Tamil Nadu is hereby approve the Post Graduate Course M.E.,(Industrial Safety Engineering) conducted by Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem for the appointment of Safety Officers in Factories.
