The Socio-Economic & Environmental Research Institute (SERI) is an independent non-profit

Penang-based think tank and research institute set up in 1997, with a focus on facilitating
sustainable, continuous and balanced development for the state of Penang. Their interest is in
Penang Botanic Garden which is they have made a report of Penang Botanic Gardens Masters
Plan Working Group which is they tried to find the issues as well as to recommend solutions
to mitigate the situation and to prevent further damage to the Gardens.

Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (MPPP)

Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (MPPP) was build in 15th December 1976 under Local
Government Act, 1976. The Council is an organization that provides services for local
authorities to PulauPinang (Penang). Council activities and operations of daily life affect the
quality of the people directly. Their interest is providing legal opinion on planning matters,
building, health, urban service or anything about administration of the city. They also have
their risk which is they always need to care, maintain especially the facilities and service in
Penang.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the only important agency in providing electricity to
consumers in Penang. Their interest is to provide electricity in the bioregion area so that the
visitors and local community can do their activities easy.

Jabatan Kerja Raya Pulau Pinang (JKR) (mira xreti nk wat risk dia…..tlg jap..heeheh)

JKR is the one who are responsible for doing construction work such as roads, building etc.
Their interest in bioregion area to ensure the constructions of the project follow the condition
and standards set by government and in accordance with guidelines prescribed in act.

Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang

Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP) is the water supply company that serves the
State of Penang in Malaysia. They are a 100% owned subsidiary of PBA Holdings Bhd, a
public company that is listed on the Main Board of the Malaysian Bourse (Bursa Malaysia).
Their interest in this bioregion area is to provide water as a facility for local community to do
their daily works and also for visitors. Their risk is they need to ensure the quality of water
and enough water supplies for people in Penang to use it.

Bukit Bendera Coperation Berhad @Penang Development Coperation (PDC) (tlg pilih
nk guna nama mana 1..n ni ke stakeholder yg kta guna tu.....

Penang Development Coperation (PDC) who are responsible to the development of tourism at
Penang Hill. Their interest is in Penang Hill and Ayer Hitam for implement and directing
major development strategies that are emphasize for industrial development focus on export-
oriental, labor-intensive industries, rural development the creation of new Industrial
Township.
