UNIT STANDARDS
 Demonstrates understanding of lines, shapes, colors, texture and principles of balance, proportion and
variety through drawing.

LEARNING COMPETENCIES
Appreciate things around them that have texture by identifying their names.
Distinguish things with visual and tactile texture.
Uses different drawing tools or materials - pencil, crayons and other local materials to create his work
as a means of self-expression.

 I can appreciate things around me with different texture by knowing their name.
 I can distinguish things with visual and tactile texture.
 I can use different materials to create work as a means of self-expression.

1. How are you going to take good care of your sense organs in order to name and differentiate things?

The students will differentiate two pictures of a cat and answer the following questions:
1. What can you say about this picture of a cat?
2. How about this picture of a cat?
3. Between the two pictures, which shows a real picture of a cat?
4. What picture of a cat seems like you can feel how soft it is?

 The teacher will ask the students to draw any thing that comes first on their mind. Some students will

name the object that they can see based on their classmates’ drawing.
 The teacher will ask them to pick any object that they easily get and identify if the object is rough or
smooth.

Activity2:
The teacher will show 2 pictures and the students will identify the texture.

The students will do an activity that shows rough and smooth texture. They will make a rainbow using the
following materials:
1. pencil
2. bond paper
3. scissors
4. crayons
5. glue/tape
6. egg shell
