LEARNERS ACTIVITY SHEET (LAS)
Dear Learner,
Good Day!
Welcome to our Mathematics subject. Below are your learning activities for the whole
week. Please carefully understand and follow the instructions provided. If you encounter
any difficulty in answering the tasks in this activity sheet, do not hesitate to ask for
support from your parents or anyone you think can help you do the activities. You can ask
via SMS or call _________________________, messenger________________ or email
at ________________________. Always bear in mind that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Most
importantly, be free and creative in doing the activities. I hope you will experience
meaningful learning and gain a deep understanding of the relevant competencies amidst
the COVID-19 pandemic. You can do it! Stay safe! Keep learning! Have fun! God Bless.

Sincerely,
Your Teacher

Division of Fractions by fraction and Whole Numbers and Vice Versa

Measure Me!

Directions: Read and give what is asked in each item.

For item 1 & 2 refer to the Fraction Chart.

Fraction Chart

1 whole
1/2
1/3 1/3 1/3
1/4 1/4 1/4 1/4
1/5 1/5 1/5 1/5 1/5
1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6

1. How many sixths are there in 1 whole?

1÷1/6 =
2. How many fourths are there in ½?
½÷¼=
3. Give the reciprocal of 1 ½
4. 2/3÷1/2 =
5. 2/3 ÷2 =

Guided Questions
Directions: Answer the following guided questions.

1. How do we get reciprocal of a number?

2. How do get the reciprocal of a mixed fractions?

3. How do we visualize division of a fractions?

4. What process that used after getting the reciprocal of a divisor?

5. Why is it the quotient of a whole number divided by a fraction bigger than

the dividend?

Let’s Explore!

1. Getting the reciprocal of a whole number, fraction and mixed

number.
a. For whole number, example 3 its reciprocal is 1/3.
b. For fraction, example 3/5 its reciprocal is 5/3.
c. For mixed number, example 2 1/5 change first into improper
fraction, thus 5 x 2 = 10 +1 = 11/2
d. Get the reciprocal of 11/2 which is 2/11

2.1 Visualizing division of fraction using bar model.

2.2 Visualizing division of fraction using bar model.

3. Dividing fraction by fraction and whole number or vice versa.

Example: 3/4÷1/2=N

Step 1: Get the reciprocal of the divisor and multiply the

numerator by the numerator.
Step 2: Multiply the denominator by the denominator
Step 3: Reduce the product into lowest if needed.
Answer: 3/4 x 2/1 = 6/4 or 1 2/4 or 1 ½
What’s New!

Directions: Give what is asked.

1. Divide equation using a number line.

1/2 ÷ 1/4 = N ------------------------------------

2. Divide using bar model.

3/4 ÷ 1/8 = N

÷ =

3. 1 ÷ 1/8 = N
4. 3/4 ÷ 1/5 = N
5. 3/4 ÷ 2 = N

Let’s Evaluate!

Directions: Divide the following equations.

1. 1 ÷ 1/5 = N
2. 4/5 ÷ 1/4 = N
3. 3÷1 1/5 = N
4. 1 ¼ ÷ 1/3 = N
5. ¾ ÷ 3 = N
