INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF RESUME

The CV should not be shared with anyone via Email or otherwise but the Placement Cell
All the Students are hereby informed that they are required to prepare their resume in the below mentioned
format. Don’t try to change the Resume Format. Any resume if found in the format that is not similar to the
one described below, will not be considered for executive placements. The student him/herself is accountable
for the accuracy & authenticity of the information written in the resume. If the information in the Resume is
found to be false at any point of time, the student shall be liable for punishment. The Instructions for
preparation of resume are as follows.

Instructions:
1. The entire Resume should be in Times New Roman font.
2. Keep the font size of all information in the resume as 12.
3. Delete the fields which are not applicable.
4. Don’t change the position or size of Chetana’s logo and Passport size photograph, which is on the left
hand side.
5. Student’s name should be written in bold letters. Write First Name followed by Surname. Don’t write
Middle Name. Keep both Name & Surname in “UPPER CASE”.
6. Write respective course name as either MMS or PGDM.
7. Write only one of below mentioned specializations in capital letters. (FINANCE, MARKETING,
HUMAN RESOURCES, OPERATIONS, SYSTEMS, RETAIL).
8. Write 10 digit Mobile number on the left side s in the format: +91 9999 999 999
9. Write Professional Email ID in bold e.g.:- name.surname@gmail.com
10. Photo:
 The size of the photo should not exceed 100 kb
 Photo background should be White.
 The photo-print should be clear and with a continuous-tone quality
 It should have a full face, front view, eye open.
 The photo should present full head from the top of hair to bottom of the chin.
 Centre head within the frame
 There should not be any distracting shadows on the face or in the white background.
 Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from
bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown. The
expression on the face should look natural.

Steps to insert Photo:


 Click the white rectangle on top-left corner to select it.
 Click Drawing Tools>Format, and in the Shape Styles group, click Shape Fill>Picture.
 Select the type of picture you want (such as From a File) and then navigate to the picture you
want and insert it.
Note: The students must also keep a copy of their CVs without a photo with them at all times in case
the same is required and specifically asked for

11. Personal Details:

 Address (It has to be in one line including full pin code)


 Date of Birth: Write in the format- DD/MM/YYYY
 Languages Known- Write English initially and your Mother tongue at last.

12. Educational Qualification:


 Degree: M.M.S.(Due) or P.G.D.M (Due) Year 2021 (Whichever is applicable)
 Board / University: Mumbai/Maharashtra, etc.
 P.G.D.M. students should write University name as A.I.C.T.E.
 Write Percentage up to 2 digits after decimal
 M.M.S. & P.G.D.M. Percentage is average of first 2 semesters, mention it as given in the
format : 71.00 (1st Year)
 Write H.S.C. & S.S.C.
 The alignment of columns in the table is “Center”
 Careers should be mentioned as follows: B.A.F., B.B.I., B.M.S., B.F.M., B.Com., B.Sc.,
B.Tech/B.E.(Mech./I.T./EXTC)

13. Professional Experience:

 Name of Company: Title Case, Bold


 Write Latest Work Experience first
 Work Experience if it is less than 6 months will not be considered as Professional Experience
 Work Experience in Family Business or Family’s Proprietary firm will not be considered as
Professional Experience
 Roles and responsibilities handled during Work experience should not exceed 3 bullet points
 Write the duration in the format as mentioned in sample resume
 Mention Designation in “Italics” below the company name

14. Summer Internship:


 Summer Internship Company Name-Title Case, Bold
 Write the duration of Summer Internship in the format as:- May 2021 – Jun 2021
 Brief description of Internship: Kindly restrict it to 3 bullet points as indicated in demo resume
which should include 1. Key Task handled 2. Key Learning 3. Achievements (if any)

15. Off-Summer Internship:


 Live Project Company Name- Title Case, Bold
 Write the duration of Summer Internship in the format as:- July 2021 – August 2021
 Brief description of Project: Kindly restrict it to 3 bullet points as indicated in demo resume
which should include 1. Key Task handled (Project Title) 2. Key Learning 3. Achievements (if
any)

16. Projects (Academic Projects):


 Write the Projects of your specialization first if any, followed by other projects.

17. Additional Qualification &Certifications:

 Students are advised to mention the qualifications and certifications that are relevant and in-
line with their current education

18. Extra-Curricular Activities/ Event Participation


 Write those activities/events in which you have participated in last 5 years

19. Achievements & Awards


 Mention the awards & achievements in National or State level competition.
 Write if you have received Appreciation certificate during Internships or Professional
Experience

20. Don’t change Header or Footer information on the both pages.

21. Save the Resume in Word format with file name as:
NAME_SURNAME_PGDM/MMS_DIVISION_ROLL NO_SPECIALISATION

22. Most Common Mistakes found in CV and to be avoided:

 Phone number must be in the format 4-3-3 e.g. 9999 999 999
 Blank pages must be deleted.
 All the dates must be aligned properly on the right side.
 In other activities (e.g extracurricular), only the five most recent and most relevant points must
be added.
 Filename must be in capital and the format:
 NAME_SURNAME_PGDM/MMS_DIVISION_ROLL NO_SPECIALISATION

Note: Student should be able to produce relevant Certificates against the information mentioned
under these headings
