Process for operating Ion Chromatography (ANION ANALYSIS)

Sample preparation
1. Sample is filtered by 0.2 µm filter paper
2. Minimum volume of sample is 30 mL (Diluted 100 times)
3. All samples are prepared by double distilled water

Column Specification
Column-ANION Column- C18
Column name: - ANION Column name: - C18 column
Column type: - Metrosep A Supp 5 – 250/4.0 Column type: - 12
Serial No. – 7109918 Serial No. – 12

Eluents for ANION analysis

1A – 1.0 mM NaHCO3 + 3.2 mM Na2CO3
2A – 2.7 mL per L (All the eluents are prepared in milliQ water)
3 A – 100% Water

Operating condition of Instrument (ANION analysis)

Flow: - 0.7 mL/min
Conductivity: - (…) < 18 µS/cm
Position: - 1
Volume: - 20 µL
Sample amount: - 1
pH range: - 3-12
Standard temperature: - 25 °C
Note: - I made my own calibration curves for nitrate, nitrite and chloride ion and I regularly
check the retention time of these ions separately.

(Sigma-Aldrich standard which is kept for standard calibration is expired)
