14. Substrate shall not contain oil, grease, dirt, loose paint, loose rust, weld spatter or other surface contamination. Solvent/detergent wash (SP1) when
substrate contains oil or grease. Dirt, loose paint, loose rust shall be removed by high pressure water washing. (SAES-H-001, Sec 6.1.)
15. Nozzle pressure for blasting shall be 90 psi minimum. (SAES-H-001,Sec 6.5.2)
16. Blotter test to be conducted for checking the compressed air quality from the compressor at the start and mid-point of each 8-hour period. (SAES-H-
001,Sec 6.5.1)
17. Abrasive blasting and painting shall not be started when the substrate temperature is less than 10deg. C or more than the temperature limit given in the
applicable Saudi Aramco Data Sheet, less than 3deg.c above the dew point, relative humidity is 85% and adverse weather conditions exist. (SAES-H-
004,Sec 6.1)
18. Blast cleaned surface to be coated before the surface condition degrades below the specified cleanliness level and shall be re-inspected if the surface is
held for more than 4 hours after blasting.(SAES-H-001,Sec 6.6.3)
19. Spent abrasive shall be removed from the blast cleaned surfaces by dry brushing or blowing down with clean, dry compressed air. (SAES H-004 Sec 8.4
)
20. All paint materials for each coating system shall be supplied by the same Manufacturer unless otherwise approved by the CSD (SAES-H-001,Sec 9.1.4)

8.3.4)
22. The reference standards for abrasive blasting shall be SIS 05-59-00 and SSPC Vis 1. (SAES-H-004 Sec 8.1.3)
23. FIFO: - Paint shall be issued on First-In- First-Out (FIFO) basis (DE119889 Sec 5.4)
