Part IV
Although, student assessment is a critical activity to measure the learning
progress and performance of students, we have to consider the what are the right
assessment methods to be implemented. When grading students, it is important to put
the learners at the center.
There are several possible ways of assessing students, however, careful
considerations on which type of assessment will be done needs to be considered. This
is because the type of assessment we do influences the learning experiences of the
learners. It has to be studied when a summative assessment of a formative
assessment needs to be done as well as the weight these assessment s will be on the
final grade of the learner.
Assessment will not only help the learner focus on what is important for him in
terms of education but is also a tool for the teacher/facilitator in determine the correct
teaching techniques will be applying.
Among the different assessment methods mentioned I believe that the first
methods which is the Criterion-Referenced, Fixed Percentage is the most appropriate
assessment method to be used because it values the weights applied to each
component of the grade and is dependent.
