Firoozeh was going to Leffingwell Elementary school, and a few days before school started, her
dad enrolled her to meet her new teacher, Mrs. Sanberg. Since her mother and she did not
speak English, the meeting was mostly by her father talking to Mrs.Sandberg. She had a
chance to show her English skills: white, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and green. On the
first day, Firoozeh was going to school at Leffingwell Elementary. The teacher asks her mother
(Nazareth) to point out Iran on the map for students. But Nazareth did not understand and
asked Firoozeh to. Both Firoozeh and Nizireh are embarrassed.

3. What happens on their way home from school? How does the situation get resolved?
On the way home after school, the school was just a few blocks from their home. Firoozeh and
her mother get lost to find a way home. None of the streets or houses looked familiar.
Fortunately, the girl’s mother helped them hand them a telephone and her mother called her
father and spoke with the woman who helped them and gave their address and took them to
their house.
