BY BO SANCHEZ (2010)

Investment rather than Savings. It was one of the main concepts the author would
want his reader to remember. Bo Sanchez is an entrepreneur, missionary and
investor. He help those interested on investment because his theory was this “If I can
teach them how to invest, I can teach anyone” Sanchez (2010) pp. 11. His book aims
to give awareness to everybody that it's not hard to invest in the stock market as
long as there's guidance and discipline. For me, I think it's very complicated and
dangerous knowing the financial risk I will incur if not managed and controlled
well. However, Bo Sanchez mentioned simple system to use and rules to apply in the
stock market investment that I believe is relevant to beginners who are interested to
be an investor. He also included four rules to follow on how, what, when and where
to invest your funds which I considered a life-changing strategy for the growth of
investment. He also incorporate the procedure and requirements on how to open an
online account using Citiseconline which is a very useful and easy site to connect in
the world of stock market and will handle your account according to Sanchez (2010)
pp. 58. He also want to show in the book that there's no age requirement for having
an investments because he involve his childhood and his children in the book using
an example and real life conversation that makes sense and realistic to the readers.
With that, I can say that his book is practical in a way that he envision greater
rewards in the future for the people who he helped with. To reach thousands of
people he wanted to support in the field, He have a group namely TrulyRichClub
where the book was originally written for its members. What Bo Sanchez do to guide
them is through sending his monthly stocks update report in a simple financial
jargon to give them the right choice and decision for their investments. Not only
financial education was taught in that group but also the spiritual aspect of the
members in which the author is greatly concerned about. He always put in the mind
of those people to grow their wealth and financial freedom without compromising
love to others. Aside from the group, the main characters of these book that he truly
cares about is his three household maids. These three doesn’t have the enough
income for their expenses and Bo found ways to manage their finances by opening
up to them how to invest. With the guidance of Bo, fortunately the money of the
maids is growing. In that case, Bo is indeed a compassionate person and i realize
specially in this time of pandemic investment is a good opportunity to start venture.

Correspondingly, from the author’s intro I can tell that he wanted to persuade the
readers to join its group by pointing out the advantages of having investments. He
entails that he can enlighten everyone because of his theory that he can teach his
maids, so he can do also to anyone. Beforehand, he shared to the readers what the
maids experience in behalf on their financial circumstances. Just like, the family of
the maids were asking for assistance and they do not know where to get money due
to lack of financial management. That's why, He emphasizes the importance of
managing the finances by using a simple a system which he introduced to his maids.
This simple system requires the maids to allocate their funds into five envelopes
from the moment they'll their salaries and these are: First, Tithe Fund, Bo is a God-
fearing person. He believes that what he received is from the blessings of Almighty
God. So, he also teach them to give back to the source of blessings. Second, Expense
Fund, these fund is allocated for the small expenses of the household maids. Since
they're stay in, they do not need to much primary needs and just their wants so they
can use this second envelope if they want to buy some things they'd like to. Third,
Support Fund, according to the author every month the household maids send
money back home to their province for the foods of their families left there. Bo also
tried to help the families of their maids to start up small business that they can do to
have a source of income however, it didn't last long because of mismanagement.
Fourth, Emergency Fund, there are some circumstances in life we don't what will
happen next. So in this case, the household maids will allocate in this envelope to
secure in the future if something emergency will happen anybody in the family.
Fifth, Retirement Fund, Bo used this term for the allocation of the investment to put
in the stock market. He computed all the fund require in each envelope and the
remaining would be for the last fund. He brainwashed his household maids with
powerful vision and that vision is to retire as millionaires. Bo Sanchez don't want his
maids to touch the retirement fund in the next 20 years that i think is too long. He
also scare them if they didn't want to invest and compared the situation of those
elderly who are abandoned by their family after the hard work they paid. And with
that, they're convinced not to touch it so that they will not become a beneficiary
instead they're going to be the donors. After that, Bo used examples and
conversation between his father about the shares they owned in the San Miguel
Corporation which i understand so well and noticed his good sense of humor that
can really give more attraction to the readers. What i like about this book that the
author tackled was the rules on how to invest excellently. The first rule mentioned
was to invest small amounts every month for 20 years or more. In this rule, he
emphasizes the huge difference of trading and investing that some people wrongly
understand. Bo also acknowledged a technique called Money Cost Averaging which
is a fancy name on buying stocks from big companies each month little by little. In
doing so, you'll find that the money is steadily growing year after year. The author
also incorporate the idea on how to become rich and that is to do what riches do just
like the philanthropist Warren Buffet. Rule No. 2 was to invest even when there's
crisis. From my own POV before i read this book, it is really risky to invest in a
difficult situation however, it's the opposite thing to do in earning more. In this rule,
Bo give highlight what's the right thing to do despite of the crisis. He make an option
to choose from and share the best answer to apply. Rule no. 3 and 4 is about giants
or great companies. The two rules entails to invest only in many giants and that's i
think is the secret to keep your stock safe and growing. The author recommend to
diversify the stocks so if there's a case the other company will fail you will have a
backup plan to continue growing your shares. And that was the 4 Rules used to
change your ways or strategize the way you handle and manage your stocks. After
that advices and recommendations, Bo added the procedure how to apply online or
face to face application that i believe very useful and convenient for those who are
interested. The process and all necessary information’s were given in the book as
well as his stocks update report.

In conclusion, the book is very detailed, informative and clear. I considered this book
as practical because of its strong vision towards the greater rewards in the future.
This is indeed worth to read especially for those who have plans to invest just like
me. I quietly observe that it is too persuasive wherein he always repeat encouraging
everyone to join in the group and about his other books. However, I like how
informative it is and the title is very catchy to the readers. This I think will contribute
a lot in the field of investment since all the rules, the ways and processes were
discussed thoroughly in simple terms. In reading this, I believe that it will be useful
and helpful, it intend to give important advice on what's the best decision for your
stocks. This book also teach how to be compassionate to others, the author shows
good morale to be financially stable while loving others. Aside from all the strengths
of this book, I find its lack of illustrations or graph that can make the readers
visualize the ups and down of the stocks in a certain circumstances. And especially
the role of household maids, I wanted them to have more interaction in the book
since they are the highlight of the title. It's good if they have shared their experience
on their investment journey in the stock market and what happen to their start-up
funds if they get through it easily or not. In that way, it's more inspiring and
reasonable. Additionally, I believe that the sources of the author is quiet impressive
since he already have a long experience on the topic in a way that he can share his
story as well as strategies and other lives of the people who worked for him. All in
all I would rate this book 9.5 out of 10. I'm impressed with it and I'm looking
forward for other books of Bo Sanchez as I can relate to it especially I'm a Business
Administration Student major in Financial Management and I'm open minded with
new learning opportunity.
