Tuong Duc Thinh – The Greatest Accomplishment of

his track of life

Tuong Duc Thinh became the youngest and the first Vietnamese cyclist to win
the world-famous competition – the Tour de France 2020.
Tuong Duc Thinh – a 22-year-old professional cyclist but still calls himself an
amateur – has won the Tour de France and became the youngest winner since 1904
and the first Vietnamese cyclist to win the competition.
When asked about his reaction towards this achievement, he said: “It’s great, to be
honest I can’t describe how happy I am right now. This truly is an astonishing success
that I’ve always dream of as a child and as a amateur cyclist, very emotional”.
He also explained about his strength and weakness as a cyclist: “For me, I think my
strength would be the ability to regulate my breathing and maintain my endurance
throughout the whole race. However, I still get quite hasty when outrace others, and
that makes me sometimes lose focus and strength by the end of the race”.
Answering about the excitement about a career as a cyclist, Thinh answered: “I
think participating in many tournaments and traveling around the world is the most
interesting, because since I was a child, I have been a person who loves to travel and
explore, and participating these tournaments is also a way for us to have fun and have
new relationships.”
Finally, he said “Make the right decision, don't stop, and positive things will come to
those who persevere with the path they have chosen” as a message towards the
athletes in general, particularly the people who are looking up to him, as he always
reminds himself, and now he has turned out greatly.
