My name is SonJia Nash, I am so excited to be in Ms. Whitlocks 1st grade Classroom
and working with your children. My role in this classroom will be a student learning from my Mentor teacher and from bumps in the road I come across. As well as a teacher where I may lead one on ones focused on Math, and small group or large group activities. While I am working with your children I am committed to your child and their learning, I want to build healthy meaningful relationships and help them achieve their goals and succeed in this classroom. I am very thankful for this opportunity to learn from your children and building relationships with each family in the classroom. I can’t wait to learn about each and every student, but let me first tell you some things about me.
I am currently a senior at Colorado State
University in the Early Childhood Education Program. I joined this program because it was a small program, so I knew I would get a lot more hands-on experience and can build connections with my peers and professors with more ease. Also, I decided to be in Early Childhood because I wanted to be someone that students can get support from starting at a young age, as I feel like I didn’t really get that until middle or high school. I am also from Denver, Colorado born and raised, I went to pretty small schools growing up so CSU was definitely a big change! My family is from Paris, Texas which is a very small city. I have 4 siblings, two brothers, and two sisters, I am the youngest. A goal I have for myself this semester is to take all the opportunities I can, especially with COVID still around anything can happen at any moment! So I would really like to soak in this opportunity and use every advantage there is!
