Magnetic Separator Details

Type : Cross-belt operated, Electromagnetic (suspended)

Tramp Iron Lifting Capacity : The CBMS / Electromagnets shall be provided to

separate / lift the following tramp iron pieces from
limestone burden (ROM/Crushed).

a) MS cube of 20mm size

b) Shovel teeth and spikes
c) MS round bar of 50kg with L/D ratio not exceeding 5.
d) MS bolt of M12, M16, minimum length equal to 5
times the diameter
e) MS plate of 250mm x 250mm x 100mm
f) Small CI cube of size 40mm

Local Control Panel : Shall be provided for each magnetic separator complete
with all necessary electricals

Rectifier : Silicon

Magnetic Switch : This switch will be operated as soon as the magnet

attains the desired strength
Note:

1) All equipment / structures in the active magnetic zone of the magnetic separators shall be
of nonmagnetic type with adequate shielding arrangement. Pulley rim and hub below
magnetic separators shall be made of SS-304 of adequate thickness.
2) Suitable Hoist over separators to be provided.
3) Tramp Iron Chute shall be of non-magnetic SS-304 up to influence zone ofmagnet and
shall be of minimum 10mm plate In General.
4) Magnet shall be oil cooled type.
5) Magnetic material shall be CRGO.
6) ILMS discharge chute arrangement should be such that it ensures easy disposal of tramp
iron pieces to ground level.
7) Tramp iron hoppers at head pulley level should be at a suitable distance so as to avoid
spilling of limestone into this hopper from main conveyor. Length of ILMS shall be decided
accordingly. Necessary calculation shall be provided by Seller in this respect.
