One Planet Summit 4th edition of One Planet Summit (OPS) 2021 was
(OPS) 2021 virtually organized by France, the United Nations (UN)
and the World Bank from Paris (France) to prepare
negotiations for setting global biodiversity targets in
order to protect nature in next decade. The theme of the

HOPE Consortium’s first-ever two-day World
Immunisation & Logistics Summit 2021 held in Abu
Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union
Minister for Health and Family Welfare of India virtually
participated in a final panel discussion on ‘Focus on Asia:
Vaccine production and distribution across Asia’.The
Hope Consortium launched by Department of Health ,Abu
Dhabi for full global vaccine distribution. The two-day
summit was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation to focus and enhance the
cooperation to tackle COVID-19 across the world.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Prime Minister of
Netherlands Mark Rutte co-chaired the India-Netherlands
Virtual Summit 2021.It was the 1st High-level summit
attended by PM Mark Rutte after the Netherland general
elections which were held in March 2021. PM Rutte
became the Prime Minister of the Netherlands for the 4th
Consecutive Term. The two PMs agreed to institute a
‘Strategic Partnership on Water’ to deepen the
relationship between the countries in the water related
sector.
United Nations Secretary General has called for the 1st
ever United Nations Food Systems Summit 2021 to be
held in September 2021 in New York, USA. The Summit is
a part of the Decade of Action (2020-30) to achieve the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Prime
Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the event
along with other global leaders. The Summit will be
guided by five Action Tracks.
Prime Minister Modi participated in the Virtual Leaders’
Summit on Climate 2021 which was hosted by the US.
Theme of the Summit – ‘Our Collective Sprint to 2030’. It
is one of the key events before the UN Climate Change
- Conference of the Parties, COP26, which is said to be held
in Glasgow, Scotland, UK in November 2021. PM Modi
announced the launch of ‘U.S.-India Climate and Clean
Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership’. Targets – India has set
a renewable energy target of 450 Gigawatts by 2030. 43

Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to
establish a ‘2+2 Ministerial Dialogue’ at the Foreign
& Defence Minister level between the two countries.
It is expected to boost the Bilateral Strategic
- partnership between India & Russia.Russia is the
4th Country & 1st Non-Quad (Quadrilateral Security
Dialogue) member country with which India has
established the ‘2+2 Ministerial Dialogue’
mechanism.
