METHODS OF TEACHING YOGA TO AN INDIVIDUAL, SMALL
GROUP AND LARGE GROUP
Elton’s (1977) model classified all teaching and learning systems techniques into three broad
groups:

 Mass instruction
 Individualized instruction
 Small group learning.

GROUP TEACHING TECHNIQUES

 Students are taught in a group. These groups could be homogeneous having the
students of same age, same physical or mental abilities, same background etc. or may
be heterogeneous with variation in all these factors.
 The size of the group may be small (up to 3), medium (up to 12), or large (above 13).
 The classroom teaching with Lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops etc. belong to this
setting
