AB - The study focuses on the meat processing industry in Western Visayas which
utilizes pork, beef and cornbeef as the main raw materials and the role it plays in
the livestock industry of the region. Part I reviews the operations and practices
of the meat processors. Determines the status of the meat processing industry, the
present piggery operation in the company. Part 2 focuses on the project feasibility
which includes: (1) a marketing plan; (2) a technical aspect focusing on raw
materials sourcing, production processes, labor supply, machinery and equipment;
(3) a financial aspect which determines the investment requirement, profitability,
working capital; (4) organizational aspect; (5) an implementation plan. The
situation presents an opportunity for a medium sized farm to engage in processing
of locally produced products.
