SCIENCE MONTH CELEBRATION 2021

TO: All Science Teachers


Grade 3-6 Pupils
All Others Concerned

1. In line with Presidential Proclamation No. 264, s. 2002 declaring September every year
as National Science Club Month and Division Memorandum No. 20 s. 2021 regarding
the conduct of Science Month Celebration 2021, this office through the Curriculum
Implementation division (CID) announces this year’s school celebration on September
23-29, 2021 with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon.”
2. The activities aim to:
a. integrate Science in other learning areas promoting creativity and innovations in the
New Normal
b. showcase creativity in crafting original video production competition focusing on
difficult topics on Science, Technology and Engineering, and Math (STEM)
concepts.
c. prepare teachers and the learners in the different science related activities
d. heighten the interest, appreciation, and awareness among learners, parents,
teaching and non- teaching personnel through science related activities
e. promote the significance of science education in our daily lives despite the current
pandemic
3. The school is also encouraged to prepare one electronic tarpaulin to be posted on the
respective official School FB page.
4. To ensure the smooth conduct of the school-based competitions, the school will have
designated working committees for registration, contest officials, documenter, and
assigned school M & E teacher.
5. The assigned School M and E will receive a google form for parental consent of the
participants and winning entries to post in SLES fb page in adherence to Data Privacy
Act Submission of form shall mean that the participants agree to follow the rules of the
suggested activities and respect the decision of the judges.
6. Registration to these activities shall be free of charge and participation shall be voluntary
basis. Electronic Certificate of Recognition for 3 Winners (1 st, 2nd, and 3rd place) for each
category will be given by the school. Electronic Certificate of Recognition will also be
given to the TWGs and contest officials. While E-Certificate of Participation will be given
to all participants after accomplishing the monitoring and evaluation via google form for
School-based Science Month Activities.
7. The winners will be announced on September 27, 2021.

8. Attached are the guidelines in the conduct of the different categories Schools can
choose
any of the following suggested activities.

ON THE SPOT POSTER MAKING CONTEST
Mechanics:
a. The contest is open for Elementary Level (Grades 4-6), Junior HS Level (Grades 7-
10) and Senior High School Level (Grades 11-12)
b. The poster must depict or relay a message of the Science Month theme. The entry
shall be the participants’ original work; the name, school and grade level shall be
posted at the back of the illustration board.
c. The entry must be submitted in 1/8 illustration board; in any kind or medium of
drawing, in portrait or landscape is allowed.
d. Two hours will be allotted for the poster making contest The participants will capture
pictures or videos (while drawing the poster every 30 mins) pictures will be sent
together with the entry
e. The district entries will be submitted to the link (shared drive) provided by the
contest officials on September 29, 2021.
f. The entry shall be scored based on the given criteria. Judges’ decision is final and
irrevocable.

SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST


Mechanics:
a. The contest is open for Elementary Level (Grades 3-6), Junior HS Level
(Grades 7-10) and Senior High School Level (Grades 11-12)
b. The slogan must depict or relay a message of the Science Month Theme.
c. The entry shall be the participants’ original work with name, school, and
grade level.
a. The entry shall be in Filipino with a minimum of 12 words and maximum of
20 words.
b. The entry shall be given a score based on the given criteria. Judges’ decision
is final and irrevocable.
c. The district entries will be submitted to the link (shared drive) provided by the
contest officials on September 29, 2021.

FACE MASK & FACE SHIELD DESIGN CONTEST

Mechanics:
a. The contest is open for Elementary Level (Grades 3-6) and Junior HS Level
(Grades 7-10).
b. The entry should include a creatively designed face mask and face shield using
available recycled materials/stuff at home.
c. The entry shall be submitted by sending two (2) photos of the face shield and 2
photos of the face mask in JPEG Format, accompanied by a brief explanation (3-5
sentences) in PDF Format.
d. The entry will be submitted through the link provided by the contest managers.
e. The entry will be posted in the DepEd Antipolo Science Group. Entry can be
shared for fb likes. Link via Google Form will be provided to consolidate the
number of fb Likes. Use the # DepedAntipoloIbangKlaseto’# Agham at
Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon. Only Like Emoticon will be counted in
the said contest.
f. The uploading of photos wearing the mask and face shield shall be uploaded and
the timeline for liking the photos will start on September 29 from 8 AM until 5:00
PM of September 30, 2021.
g. The district entries will be submitted to the link (shared drive) provided by the
contest officials on September 29, 2021.
h. The entry shall be scored based on the given criteria. Judges’ decision is final and
irrevocable

MUNTING HALAMANAN SA TAHANAN


Mechanics:
a. The contest is open for Elementary Level learners (Grades 3-6 with their
parents), Junior HS Level (Grades 7-10) and teaching/non-teaching personnel
of the division/schools
a. The entry for this contest is their own collection of plants. a photo collage (in a
long coupon bond paper size) in JPEG format.
b. The entry shall be accompanied with a 3 - 5 sentence explanation in English in
PDF format in a separate sheet.
b. The entry will be submitted through the link provided by the contest managers.
c. The entry will be posted in the DepEd Antipolo Science Group. Entry will be
shared for fb likes. Link via Google Form will be provided to consolidate the
number of fb Likes. Don’t forget to use the # DepedAntipoloIbangKlaseto’
#Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon. Only Like Emoticon will
be counted in the said contest.
d. The photo of the collage shall be uploaded and may be liked from September
29 from 8 AM until 5:00 PM of September 30, 2021.
e. The entry shall be scored based on the given criteria. Judges’ decision is final
and irrevocable.

GRADE 5: SCIENCE TIKTOK CHALLENGE


Mechanics:
a. The contest is open for all Elementary Level Students (Grades 3-6)
b. The TikTok video should be about the Science theme.
c. The entry can be a solo or group video composed of the family members
d. There should only be one entry per account.
e. All information provided in the entry must be true, accurate and correct in all respects.
f. The video length must have a minimum of 30 seconds and maximum of 1 minute.
g. The entry will be submitted through the link provided by the contest managers.
h. The entry can shared for fb likes. Link via Google Form will be provided to consolidate
the number of fb Likes. Don’t forget to use the # DepedAntipoloIbangKlaseto’# Agham
at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon.Only Like Emoticon will be counted in
the said contest.
i. The uploading and cut-off time for liking the photos will start on September 29 from 8
AM until September 30, 2021, 5 PM.
j. Sounds, instruments, or musical background is allowed to complement the delivery.
The background music should have no profanity and inappropriate language. Entries
must be suitable for publication to a general audience and must not contain any (1)
that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, obscene, libelous,
invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or otherwise objectionable; (2) that promotes
discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation or
disability, or age; (3) that promotes violence or unsafe or illegal activity; (4) that is
threatening, harassing or degrading (e) that serves to impersonate any person or
entity or misrepresent affiliation with any person or entity.
k. The entry shall be scored based on the given criteria. Judges’ decision is final and
irrevocable.
