Well my parents had decided to leave me alone at home on Wednesday night so I
decided to have a party. You see on Wednesday night at 9 pm there was an important
football game so I called a few of my friends over to watch it and have some beer and
pizza.
‘At 8 0’ clock on the very night of the game I began to roll the dough for the pizza. The
beer was ice cold waiting in the fridge for the game. At 8:40 I placed the pizza in the
oven and set it at 180° Celsius.
Then the doorbell rang and my guests began to arrive one by one and we all sat down
to watch the game. I insisted that my friends make themselves at home with their
greasy pizzas, napkins and cans of beer.
Before the end of the game there were beer cans, napkins and dirty paper plates all
over the room. We shouted, laughed and had an all-around jolly good time! (And thatExample 3:
Jane had just had a terrible argument with Joe, her boyfriend. She stormed out of his
house and walked towards her car. As she approached it, she noticed another car was
parked behind hers which surprised her because Joe lived alone in the country.
She got into her car and drove off as quickly as she could. While she was driving she
kept looking in the mirror and realized that she was being followed. Suddenly, she felt
very, very nervous and scared.
She stopped her car at her house and the other car stopped right behind her. She
jumped out and ran to her door. She could hear someone running behind her. She
banged on the door and screamed for her roommate to let her in.

Gen. George Patton
George Patton was born into a wealthy Californian family in the 1800s. From the time
he was a child he knew that he wanted to lead men in battle. He came from a long line
of war heroes in his family and he wanted to continue the tradition.
When he was 18 he went to Virginia Military Institute and later transferred to West
Point graduating in 1909, 46% out of a class total of 103. In 1912 he participated in the
Olympic Pentathlon finishing in 4" place among the military athletes of the world.
Patton participated in the Pancho Villa Expedition in 1915 and became an expert in
tank tactics in World War I. He was wounded while leading six men and a tank in an
attack on German machine guns. His orderly, Private First Class Joe Angelo, saved
Patton by dragging him to safety.
During the years between WWI and WWII Patton continued working with tanks and
perfecting their use. Patton ’s way of conducting war was to always move forward and
never retreat. His philosophy won him the respect and honor so many cherish.
