Title: Reaction Paper in MAP International CEO Web Conference 2021-Hindsights,
Insights, Foresights: The Future in the Present Tense The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. While some people are trying to adapt to online work, educating children at home, and ordering food through Grab, others have no choice but to be exposed to the virus while keeping society working. If it is deemed necessary to make a strong political response, the company will inevitably be negatively affected, with both short-term effects and unexpected long-term consequences. In the conference, it teaches us how can we manage our business especially in this fortuitous event. As a management accounting student, I look forward on acquiring some knowledge or information from this conference entitled MAP International CEO Web Conference 2021 for the future accountant. This conference can help me enlighten me about the world of business and what it looks like. I’ll make their experience running a business as my inspiration since I want to run a business in the future. I will look further regarding their business plan since it’s an important tool to guide the business decisions. The first speaker that awakens me is Mr. Stephen Kehoe the President and CEO, Asia Pacific at Edelman. In his presentation, he emphasized the word TRUST. Trust is one way to create a good relationship. In the second session, entitled “Purpose the New Capital, Trust the New Currency”. This is about how brands rise and fall and how they perform in times of crisis. The fairness difference in trust levels is increasing. And I learned that trust is the new currency and we should know how to develop it. In most many cases, we purchase those brands we really trust and in conclusion, trust must start in the institution and the leader must know this. And the next speaker is Dr. Krisana Kraisintu she is a Thai professor and pharmacist, as known as the "Gypsy pharmacist". In her presentation she emphasized to never give up until you reach your goal. In her session entitled “Empowerment, Equality and Dignity: Strengthening the Health System”, we all know that there’s no fair and equal in this world. And as a leader we should not judge ahead of time instead we let our minds open on that community whatever their ethnicity is, their status and also the gender. We should take care of their communities and solve it at once. We must engage all segments of society and provide equality for all, especially by providing access to quality health care for all. vulnerable part of our society. The widespread closure of stores and businesses in the Philippines and around the world due to the coronavirus is unprecedented. Shops, factories and many other businesses have closed due to political orders, reduced demand, health concerns or other factors. Many of these closures may be permanent due to the landlord's inability to pay current and post-closure costs. The impact on small businesses around the world could be severe. All in all, the conference was good. It is just not for those who engage in business but it also applicable to all. We should broaden our minds on what’s happening today and it should be served as an inspiration to all to be able to join in the business world. The conference met my expectations, it exceeds rather.
