1. Why is physical education an important subject?

It goes without saying that enough physical activity is essential for

a student's general well-being. Physical education has been given a
high priority in schools in order to enhance the health and mental
stability of students. In my opinion, it should be the most essential

subject in order to eliminate chronic illnesses and higher death. It's

necessary to examine the several advantages of physical education for

the human body as well as its impact on people's lives. Having physical
education in schools is beneficial for learners as well as physical,
emotional and mental well-being. This encourage students to engage
in physical activities in order to maintain their health. Also, exercise
helps the brain structures in effective natural ways to deal on anxiety,
it calms the mind and fight depressions.

William Shakespeare once said, “By medicine life may be

prolonged, yet death will size the doctor too”. It explains that the best

medicine is exercise therefore, we should consider that physical

education is one of the important subject in schools.

2. In your own perspective, how can physical education help you

personally and eventually in your future career?

I had a little prior understanding of physical education, and this

program helped me to broaden my horizons and information that
would help me in the future. Through the scope that PE offers, I
figured out how to be compelling and challenging in circumstances
because it involves exercise, creating ideas of social and personal
obligations. Physical education can help me to enhance my skills and
academic achievements. Taking physical education as a subject, I
learned how to socialize effectively and work in a team in order to get
the greatest outcomes. Similar to my course, which is Bachelor of
Science in Psychology, physical education can also maintain my
personal thoughts and actions knowing that mental health matters, it
helps me to decide how I can handle pressure, how I feel, think and act
everyday.

3. What significant learning did you get after watching the

presentation of Mr. William Simon, Jr. related fitness? Which is more

important?

When I was younger, I remember participating in traditional

Filipino games like tumbang preso, tagu-taguan and others. I was
active in almost all of the games and sporting events during my high
school years. What Professor William Simon, Jr. state, stuck in my mind.
He said, by learning physical education can guide us to become better
learners and people for tomorrow. He also informed everyone that 14
million American children are obese. So what about the whole world?
We should focus on physical education more because regular physical
activity can balance the weight of very human being and it also helps
by preventing obesity. Physical education should be prioritized in
schools since it can help to lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes,
and other illnesses. It improves muscular and bone strength,
encouraging students to engage in healthy activities both on and off
campus. Additionally, answering the questions and watching the TED
Talk presentation of William Simon, Jr. I realized the P.E. teaches
students about important life skills like determination, which will help
us to succeed in the future.
