First Lesson Quarter 4 Module 1

yourself up with the latest addition to the English vocabulary could have a positive
impact towards reading, writing, and learning. Get your dictionary or go online and

You have learned that if a sentence has singular subject it is followed by a singular
verb (with -s), and if it has a plural subject it is followed by a plural verb (without -s or
base form). For example.

o Arsenio lives in Tumana, Marikina City.


o More people live in Malanday than any other barangay in Marikina*.

Let us recall how to write a sentence with correct subject-verb agreement. Complete
the following sentences with a singular or plural form of the verb in brackets. Use
present tense.
