A. Define the branches of biology listed below. Write the answer on the space provide.

1.) TAXONOMY
-It is one of the most important branches of Biology that deals with categorizing and
naming different organisms based on their characteristics.
2.) CYTOLOGY
-The branch of science which deals with the study of cells and their organelles.
3.) PHYSIOLOGY
-It is the study of different types of body functions and processes.
4.) EMBRYOLOGY
-It is the study of fertilization, growth, division and differentiation of the zygote into
embryo or early development of living beings before the attainment of structure and
size of the offspring.
5.) PALAEONTOLOGY
- It deals with the study of fossils or remains and impressions of past organisms
present in the rocks of different ages.
6.) ECOLOGY
-Study of relationship between organism and environment
7.GENETICS
-Study of heredity and variations
8.) EUGENICS
-Study of improvement of human race by applying laws of heredity. It applied before
birth. Eugenics is related with future generation.

Philippine Education?
-The importance of improving science curriculum in Philippine
Education is to help students to develop basic scientific ideas
and understanding about the biological and physical aspects of
the world, and the processes through which they develop this
knowledge and understanding.
-It also develops students' scientific inquiry skills, values and
attitudes, such as objectivity, curiosity, and honesty and habits
of mind including critical thinking. All these are useful to the
individual student for his own personal development, future
career, and life in general.
-Since the goals of science education in the Philippine are
clearly stated in science curriculum: produce scientifically
literate citizens who are informed and active participants of the
society, responsible decision makers, and apply scientific
knowledge that will significantly impact the society and the
environment.
