Directions: Read and answer the following questions. (20 POINTS)

1. Education is a function of society. Considering the positive and negative elements of 21st Century
society:

1.1 state the educational goals that 21st Century schools should pursue;
ANS:
1. NCEE – National College Entrance Examination introduced – executive order No. 117 –
President Corazon C. Aquino renamed Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) in
1987
2. Creation of the Board for Professional Teachers composed of 5 under PRC
3. Trifocalization of the Educational system
4. Integration of values in all learning areas
5. Emphasis on mastery learning
1.2 describe the ideal 21st Century graduate;
ANS:
The ideal 21st-century graduate would be adaptable, have strong critical thinking skills, and be
able to quickly adapt and implement change. We all know that every sector can change at any time,
and it is now constantly disrupted by new ideas and methodologies. With this in mind, the world has
reached an age in which nothing can be assured. As a result, graduates will need to learn how to
manage the transition that will inevitably occur in their lives. They at the very least learn how to respond
to it.
Graduates in the twenty-first century should be adaptable, able to extend their depth of expertise to
an increasingly broader range of circumstances and interactions, learning new competencies and
taking on new duties.
1.3 describe the education delivery mode.
ANS:
We are now open to the use of technology in the delivery of education in the twenty-first
century. Technologies play a significant role in assisting instructional agents in providing lessons in an
imaginative, accurate, and transparent manner. For example, if a teacher wants to teach a specific
technique, she can easily show a video to engage students in learning how to do it. It also aids students
in recalling knowledge since, as we all know, learners in the twenty-first century are mostly visual and
auditory learners. When compared to the educational materials used by our ancestors, what we have
now is one of the most convenient ways of learning. With the help of technology, we were able to
collect the information required more quickly.
