SNC2D Chemistry Research Project

Task
Complete an independent research to answer an interesting question that involves a chemical
reaction AND the environment and to produce a powerpoint/prezi etc. describing it.

Possible topics: acid rain, oil spills (and their clean up), burning of fossil fuels, neutralizing acid
spills, renewing the Great Lakes, scrubbing smokestack emissions

Your presentation must contain:

(a) Title (a catchy/creative title)

(b) A description of the reaction, how it links to the environment, when/where it
can be found or used, and other interesting information about it
(IN YOUR OWN WORDS!)
(c) Word Equation describing your reaction.
(d) Balanced Chemical Equation.
(e) The type of chemical reaction (synthesis, decomposition, single displacement,
double displacement, neutralization).
(f) Variety of pictures showing illustrating the reaction
(g) A list of the website or books which you used in your research of the reaction
