 IMPORTANCE ON SAFETY
1. APPLICATION
HUGER SLS-2100P light source has been designed for illumination and air
feed of the endoscope, and be used with a HUGER Endoscope, Video
Processor, Monitor, recorder and other ancillary equipments or which
authorized by HUGER.
Do not use the instrument for any purpose other than this application.

2. SAFETY
Before using, thoroughly review this manual. Use it as instructed. Safety items
are all explained in Chapter 1.
Moreover, the safety items of the operation are marked with [ Warning]

3. CAUTION
Cautions relating to body injury are marked [ Warning]. Use the
instrument according to the correct order after reading carefully and
comprehending the cautions.

Warning
Wrong operation is very dangerous.
Patient, operator or person close to the
instrument may be injured.
Operate this system after reading and
comprehending this manual carefully.

Moreover, cautions relating to equipment damage are marked [ Caution].

4. CLINICAL OPERATION
The instrument should only be operated by physicians who have received the
training and specialized guidance. The manual does not include clinical
operation technique.

5. CHECK BEFORE USE

In order to avoid accident in using and make the instrument in its high
performance, please check before using as instructed in chapter 3 and
chapter 4.

6. USE WITH OTER EQUIPMENTS

Sometimes this instrument is used with ancillary equipments. In order to avoid
current shock accident when using other ancillary equipments, such as
monitor etc., please use special socket of the ancillary equipment to put
through electrical current.

7. HIGH VOLTAGE

Some parts inside the instrument have high voltage, it is not only dangerous
but also easy to cause trouble when touching by hand.

8. EYEWINKER · LIQUID
If eyewinker, water, or druggery etc., flows into the instrument , fire and
current shock can be caused . In case of the liquid entering the instrument ,
please pull the plug off from the socket immediately and contact HUGER or
your HUGER representative.

9. CARE
The instrument will wear down after long time use. Do Inspect it periodically .
Even if little abnormity is found , please be alert and inspect it carefully . Do
not disassembly and alter the instrument.

 FOREWORD
This instruction manual is concerning to the explanation of using technique
and adjustment, care of SLS-2100P medical videoendoscope light source.
Regarding the use technique of endoscope and each ancillary equipment,
please refer to their own instructions.

Caution
The operator of this instrument must be a physician or medical
personal under the supervision of a physician. The instruction is only
used for SLS-2100P Light Source.
HUGER is not liable for any damage or accident resulting from improper
use of the instrument or operation not following the instruction manual.
The after-sales services and repairing should be executed by HUGER or
HUGER’s representative. We remind that we are not liable for any injury
or damage which occurs as a result of repairs attempted by non-
HUGER personnel.

※ As the products are ameliorated constantly, maybe there are some

differences between the products we provide to you with the described
products.

 CHAPTER 1 SAFETY
1-1 Notice of use

(1) Check before Using

In order to avoid accident in using and make the instrument in its high
performance, please check before using as instructed in chapter 3 and
chapter 4.

(2) Use with other equipments

Sometimes this instrument is used with ancillary equipments. In order to
avoid current shock accident when using other ancillary equipments,
such as monitor etc., please use special socket of the ancillary
equipment to put through electrical current.

(3) Care
The instrument will wear down after long time use. Do inspect it
periodically. Even if little abnormity is found, please be alert and inspect
it carefully. Do not disassembly and alter the instrument.

(4) Mobile Phone

Electromagnetic may cause this medical equipment’s wrong action, so
do not use mobile phone, radio and toy controlled by radio etc.

Chapter 3 Instrument Installation

3-1 Preparation before Installation
Use other power supply voltage than instructed may cause
fire, electric shock. Please use the power supply of alternating
current 220V. Do plug into a medical receptacle (3-pin) for
safety.
Do not use 3 pins-2 pins transform plug by which may cause
accident of electric shock.
Avoid using the equipment near the flammable gas in which
may cause fire or explosion.

Chapter 4 Operation Instruction

4-1 Startup
Do not look directly to the light while the lamp is working, or
intense light from endoscope’s distal end and light output of
light source may damage your eyes.
Do not use 3 pins-2 pins transform plug by which may
cause accident of electric shock.

Chapter 5 Maintenance and Care

5-2 Daily Inspection
Do not repair the equipment by unqualified personnel to
avoid damage to operator or the Light Source.

 Any after service or repair should be conducted by qualified
custom service technician.
5-4 Lamp Replacement
Operating the equipment before lamp replacement may
cause overheating of the lamp. Do not replace the lamp
instantly to avoid damage to hands.
Do not touch lamp while operating the equipment.
Always let the lamp cool down first.
Disconnect power cord from socket before replacing lamp.
Wear the exposure glasses and gloves to protect hands
and artery when in dire need of lamp replacement.
5-5 Fuse Replacement
Different fuses may cause fire, electric shock.
Do not use other fuse except the appointed rated fuse.
Replacing fuse when power cord is still in socket may result
in electric shock.
Disconnect power cord from socket before replacing fuse.

1. Output Socket: connect to endoscope

2. BRIGHTNESS: rotate clockwise, the level increases and the image
on monitor brighter and it is on the contrary when
rotate anticlockwise
3. LAMP: press to illuminate or turn off the lamp.
4. PUMP: press to start or stop air feed
5. POWER: [Ⅰ] is start, [○] is off. The indicator is illuminated green to
notify the open circuit
6. Lamp Indicator: illuminated when lamp is on
7. Pump Indicator: illuminated when pump is on

 CHAPTER 3 INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION
3-1 Preparation before Installation

Warning
Use other power supply voltage than instructed may cause fire,
electric shock. Please use the power supply of alternating current
220V. Do plug into a medical receptacle (3-pin) for safety.

Do not use 3 pins-2 pins transform plug which may cause

accident of electric shock.

Avoid using the equipment near the flammable gas which may
cause fire or explosion

Caution
Do not obstruct the air vents of the instrument in order to prevent
the equipment from overheating

Place the equipment on surface without shake and strike.

① Place the Light Source on a stable, level surface. If place it on an

suspended installation site, make sure it will not fall to the ground.
② Prevent the air vents form being obstructed and prevent the Light
Source from being placed on its side.
③ Insert the power cord into power supply cord receptacle at the back
panel.

3-2 Endoscope Connection （Please refer to endoscope’s instructions.）

The compatibility with the OLYMPUS FIBERSCOPE was incorporated
into the design of the light source. Therefore, the equipment can also be
used as the light source for the OLYMPUS FIBERSCOPE.

 CHAPTER 4 OPERATION INSTRUCTION
4-1 Startup

Warning
Do not look directly to the light while the lamp is working, or
Intense light from endoscope’s distal end and light output of
light source may damage your eyes.

Do not use 3 pins-2 pins transform plug which may cause

accident of electric shock.

Caution
Keep the equipment working for more than 30 minutes after
lamp’s starting to work. Less than 30minutes of the working time
may slightly shortens the life of the lamp.

Restart only after lamp’s cooling down for more than 5 minutes,
otherwise the lamp will damage.

①Press the POWER switch to [Ⅰ] and the green indicators will be
illuminated.
Confirm that the cooling fan operating at the same time.
② Press the LAMP switch to activate the lamp, which can provides
adequate light. Press again to turnoff the lamp.
③Rotate the BRIGHTNESS control switch to select an appropriate
brightness level.
④ Press the PUMP switch to activate the lamp, which can provides air
current with certain intensity of pressure. Press again, the lamp stop
working.

※ When the brightness control switch is rotated counter-clockwise, the

brightness increases. When it is rotated clockwise, the brightness
decreases.

4-2 Function Testing

1. Connect the equipment to the socket with power cord. Start it and inspect
whether the POWER switch illuminates green.
2. Press the LAMP switch, and inspect whether the lamp illuminates.
3. Rotate the Brightness control switch, and inspect whether the light
intensity changes accordingly.
4. Press the Pump switch, and inspect if air blows.

 CHAPTER 5 MAINTENANCE AND CARE
5-1 Clean after use

Caution
Cleaning by means of other way than the instructed may
cause equipment’s damage and affect it’s safety
performance.
Clean the instrument followed by instruction.

Liquid’s flowing into equipment may cause fault.

Do not splash water and disinfectant, etc. onto the
equipment , and do not swash with water or disinfect by
digging in as well.

Clean the dust and grime gently with pledget or other soft cloth.
If the grime is serious and not easy to be wiped off, please use diluted
litmusless detergent with 5～6 times water to wet pledget and clean
gently.

5-2 Daily Inspection

oDo not repair the equipment by unqualified personnel to avoid
t damage to operator or the Light Source.
Any after service or repair should be conducted by qualified
r custom service technician.

The seller suggests that the equipment should be inspected once each
year by the qualified customer service technician.

5-3 Cautions for Care

Caution
Don’t keep the equipment where is not adapt to storage.
Clean the instrument followed by instruction.

To prevent equipment from fault, do not bend, drag, skew and

extrude the cable extremely.
Keep the cable without outside force.

Please keep SLS-2100P where is according to the following conditions

Environmental Temperature -40℃～+55℃
Air Humidity 10%～95%(except the state of dew)
Air Pressure 500hPa～1060hPa
Location Avoid exposing under sunlight
※ Confirm to startup before use after a long time halt. Refer to [Chapter 3
and Chapter 4]

5-4 Lamp Replacement

Warning
Operating the equipment before lamp replacement may cause
overheating of the lamp. Do not replace the lamp instantly to
avoid damage to hands.
Do not touch lamp while operating the equipment.
Always let the lamp cool down first.

Disconnect power cord from socket before replacing lamp.

Wear the exposure glasses and gloves to protect hands and
artery when in dire need of lamp replacement.

① Disconnect power cord from unit.

② Screw off the bolt with screwdriver to remove lamp access plate.

③ Keep pulling the lamp bottom downwards and pull the lamp upwards
according to the instruction in following fig., take it off from lamp plate

④Take off the lamp from connection.

⑤Install a new lamp to the connection.
⑥locating dowel should be aimed right down when installing new lamp.
⑦Cover the lamp access plate and screw on the bolt with screwdriver.

※ Important Note: Fasten the lamp access plate with bolt, or this equipment
can not get power supply. Please pay attention to that.
※ One spare lamp at least is suggested.

5-5 Fuse Replacement

Warning
Different fuses may cause fire, electric shock.
Do not use other fuse except the appointed rated fuse.

Replacing fuse when power cord is still in socket may result in

electric shock.
Disconnect power cord from socket before replacing fuse.

① Turn off the power supply and pull out power cord.
② Replace fuse as instructed in following fig. (the rated value of fuse is
T2A/250V)

Uncover the fuse drawer with a screwdriver and take it out.

Pull the fuse drawer into receptacle after replacing fuse.

Use only with a 250V fuse

 APPENDIX I TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
The following actions should be executed by qualified technician. Please stop
using and send to repair if trouble still can not be solved after these actions.

3. About the repair during the period of guarantee
The guarantee is one year,from the date promised in purchase

The following items are not belong to the guarantee.
·Damage caused by natural disaster such as fire, storm,
and flood etc.
·Damage caused by improper use of the instrument or
wrong operation.
·Products repaired or changed not by our company.
4. Cautions about repair
·Put the Light Source which is to be repaired into the
original package. Please remember to write down the
malfunction or damage of the instrument. And inform us
your address, Zip code, operator’s name and telephone
number.
·Simple problems can be solved by qualified technician
according to (Appendix I) Troubleshooting Guide. Any
other repairment should be conducted only by HUGER.
