Intro to
Surrealism
Surrealism Is a movement of art seen in

the 20th century, a century with wars and

depression. Salvadore Dali a surrealist
artist has painted multiple famous pieces
that remain to this day. Surrealism also
focuses on revolutionizing art by
combining a mixture of what humans see
with the unconscious mind.
Our Artist
Mamin Artoba also a surrealist artist was
inspired in a similar way and became
famous after the time travel incident
which brought his work to our time "Eyes
of Forest" is a wonderful painting that
holds a strange feeling "A forest closing in
on your soul, you can't escape because
you were running like in a dream" What
he said wonderfully described his
painting. He truly believes in using fears
to create surreal images
Artist's Intention Interview
Was the artwork based on the experience you had?
The work was based on an experience I had when I was a child when I
got lost in a forest. I had this feeling like something was looking at me all
the time.
What inspires you to work?
I always thought that painting was all about the aesthetic, focussing on
what looks pretty and correct. After exploring ideas and my thoughts I
figured I could paint about anything. Surrealism inspired me because it
teaches us not just to focus on the aesthetics but also the meaning and
the thoughts behind it. Sometimes the artist was thinking about more
than you see.

Do you think your life changed or your thinking changed after you have
Completed the artwork?
After I drew the artwork I understood that fear is something that can be
expressed through art. I want other people to know that art can help
them express their inner feelings even when it doesn't have a clear
image. It can be expressed through surrealism. Focusing on an artwork
based on the unconscious mind will help guide you to draw more.

What I learned after the interview

After the interview, I learned that anyone can create art and be inspired
by anything. Even the smallest things in life that don't make sense can be
turned into a stunning piece of art that anyone can see and can create.
Surrealism really did revolutionize art and is way ahead of its time in the
20th century.
