My Analysis
1. What are the basis in formulating the MELC?
The MELC is formulated base on the needs of the learning situation. It also helps in
determining and implementing learning delivery approaches that are suited to the local
context and diversity of learners, while adapting to the different challenges that
educational context may bring.
2. Considering the competencies in the Curriculum Guide, discuss how the listed MELCs
were formulated from the CG competencies (e.g. retaining, merging/clustering,
removing/dropping, and rephrasing).
Retaining- The MELCs focuses more on the endurance criterion that open up opportunity
to learners to retain educational information which are relevant for practical application.
Merging/clustering-Their learning objectives are at the same level, they only differ on
how it will be achieved and how it will create impact to students learning.
Removing/dropping- The MELCs chooses to remove those overlapping objectives which
are unnecessary for students learning. They focus more on enriching higher order
thinking skills which are relevant for such growth and improvement for students learning.
Rephrasing- its clear and concise and it has the objectives that employs explicit ideas for
the progress and intellectual growth for students.
