6. Research Plan
a) Broad area
5th Generation mobile communication, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence.
b) Specific area
Cloud of Things (CoT), Machine to Machine(M2M) Communication, Smart Home
and Smart City Solutions.
c) State of the art of research in the proposed area
The growing research in and discussions of 5G connectivity is already changing any
perspectives in the communications landscape. It changes the way we view Internet
services and introduces the world of pervasive and always-connected mobile
services. This includes services that are ubiquitous and available to everyone at
almost every point in a given area, indoor or outdoor and dominated by machine-to-
machine (M2M) connectivity with communications feature integrated into every-
day devices.
Wang, Dan, et al. [1] have discussed about the Intelligent-IoT based solutions to
connect all the device. It is proposed in the to have three level architecture for I-IoT
viz. Things, Internet and Intelligence. Rather than considering devices as a
individual machines it is proposed to have a Cloud of Things (CoT).
Javaid, Nadeem, et al. [2] have proposed that the network should be able to self-
organize, and to learn from the environment and make decisions astutely using the
AI techniques including machine learning, game theory, optimization algorithms,
and so on [3].

d) Specific Research issues/Challenges/gaps

i) Security,
ii) Latency,
iii) Spectrum crunch,
