The Supreme Court of India heard a writ petition regarding classifying bank accounts as non-performing assets (NPAs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Solicitor General requested to adjourn the matter, which the court agreed to do. A senior advocate submitted that no accounts should be classified as NPAs for at least two months. In view of this, the court ordered that any accounts not already declared NPAs as of August 31, 2020 will not be declared NPAs until further court orders.
