called to “DO THE GOOD.”
WHAT IS FREEDOM?
• Being truly free means growing in our capacity to act
RESPONSIBLY.
– Following the commandments of God.

freedom ought to be LIMITLESS. They feel that they

destroys the true freedom of others.
The first THREE commandments, concretely expressing how The Objective Dimension of Human Conscience
we should love and worship God, ground the other SEVEN, - Our conscience, while intimately ours, is formed by the
which express how we should love our neighbor. universal values and norms we learn from others.
- By keeping God’s law, our basic rights to life,
property, honor, and marriage are protected. UNDERSTANDING THE TRUE VALUE OF LAW
Misconception 2:
CONSCIENCE IS GOD’S VOICE WITHIN US
- Means sometimes our conscience can mistakenly judge
something objectively evil to be good or something
objectively good to be evil.
Misconception 3:
CONSCIENCE IS OUR FEELING OF GUILT
Ex.- “nakakakonsensya ang ginawa ko.”
Misconception 4:
MEDIA’S DEPICTION OF CONSCIENCE AS AN EXTERNAL
REALITY IS ACCURTE
Ex.- Angel and Devil on my shoulders.
