Interpretation:
Nursing Responsibilities:
1. Explain the importance of the procedure to the patient.
2. Explain on how the test is going to be taken. Explain that a slight discomfort may be felt when
the skin will be punctured.
3. Before proceeding to the test, encourage the patient to relax as signs of stress could possibly
influence the normal hematologic value result
4. After the procedure is done, tell to the patient to apply manual pressure on the dressing over
the puncture site.
5. Monitor the puncture site for any signs of oozing or hematoma formation
