The first chapter came with a great start. It introduces us to the life of a 16 year old Magnus Chase.

On
how he lives his way on the streets by being homeless. We the readers will soon find out that this event
happens following a tragedy from 2 years ago. It was when his mom was killed by two wolves with
glowing eyes who came to their apartment. His mother tried to save Magnus by holding off the two
wolves until Magnus Chase went down from a fire escape.

This phenomenon gives us a glimpse of what’s to come in the following chapters. Even though Magnus
Chase is homeless, he doesn’t seem to care if people feel pity for him. Besides he has friends who
helped him overcome his struggles, Blitz and Hearth. They act as a mother and father figure to Magnus
which he surely is embarrassed about.

The problem started when Blitz said to Magnus that a middle-age man with a teenage girl is trying to
find him by distributing flyers with his face that says MISSING. The photo that they took was from his
childhood he said. Magnus then began to find out where they are until he saw them coming in their
direction so he tries to hide.

When looking at them, Magnus began to remember those people. They were his uncle and his cousin.
Uncle Frederick and Annabeth Chase. He heard that his Uncle Randolph, who his mother told him to stay
away from, was trying to find him.

He couldn’t hear the rest of their conversation due to them passing through a tunnel. This prompted
Magnus Chase to visit his Uncle’s Mansion. It was pretty much easy to get inside the house due to his
experience for the past 2 years being a thief. But before you judge him, He also stated that he steals
from rich guys who doesn’t give a “duck” around their surroundings.

When he entered the house, he didn’t seem to find any interesting parts that explained why Uncle
Randolph wants him. He just saw some swords, portraits, and some weird stones that looks like it came
from Norse Mythology. He said that he could’ve helped him 2 years ago but he did not. So Magnus
Chase wonders why now.

When he looked outside the window he saw a man with a candy striped scarf. He went outside and
realized that it was his friend Hearth who is deaf so waving sign is a mean for his communication.

While talking to Hearth, a tall grumpy man appeared behind him. It was his Uncle Randolph who is very
eager to see Magnus Chase.

Magnus Chase still doubts his Uncle. He doesn’t trust him one bit and he also states that his mother’s
trait is the opposite of him. Uncle Randolph then begins to talk about a lot of stuffs about Norse
Mythology, and something about a sword. Magnus Chase does not seem to care as if he thinks that his
Uncle is crazy.

But Randolph caught Magnus’s attention when he mentioned his father. This prompted Magnus Chase
to ask tons of questions but before he began to ask one, an earthquake erupted and Uncle Randolph
told Magnus to follow him to a place of his birthright. It also seems that, that day was Magnus’s
birthday.

As they enter his Uncle’s car, Magnus seems to doubt entering but due to the disaster coming in his
way, he went in.
Chap 2 – Kakaenter niya sa mansion ni Uncle Rnadolp at tumingin siya sa labas ng window at nakita niya
si Hearth. Tas biglang may nag appear sa likod which is Randolph. (end of chap 2)

Chap 3 – Nagusap sila about norse mythology at father kaso lang nakgaroon ng earthquake kaya umalis
sila sa bahay at pumunta sa kotse. Nag doubt pa si Magnus pero pumunta padin (end of chap 3)

Chap 4 – Nagdadrive si Uncle Rnadolp at naguusap sila about a weapon that is lost 2000 years ago at yun
daw ang birthright niya since 16th birthday ni Magnus Chase. Tapos may pupuntahan daw sila which is
malolocate yung sword.

Chap 5 – Nagstop sila near sa dagat at sinabi ni Uncle Randolph na I-reach ang kamay niya sa dagat with
his desires. It failed at first but it eventually worked at the second try. (Nakuha niya is basura…yung hilt
ng sword…) After nun, biglang nag erupt yung ground. And nag appear ang isang tall dark figure which is
si SURT.

Conflict – lumapit ang kaibigan niya para sabihin na may naghahanap sakanya.

Climax – nag erupt yung ground.
