Advantages of magnetic gears:

1. When we use magnetic gears for generating energy the main advantage is that it is a
contactless alternative of mechanical gears. So, there is no need of lubrication,
suppressing wear and reduces maintenance cost as well.
2. Torque capacity of magnetic gears is really incredible as compared to mechanical gears
as a result of which more energy can be generated using speed brakers.
3. There is low wear in the case of magnetic gears.

Disadvantages:

1. In some applications they are restricted to produce high torque.

2. They are heavier and typically expansive than mechanical gears.
3. When high RPM value is used, Due to increased losses they lose there advantage of
efficiency, caused by the increased value of eddy current in the modulator.
