RAPTURE?

The rapture will involve an instantaneous transformation of
our bodies to fit us for eternity. “We know that when he
[Christ] appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him
as he is” (1 John 3:2). The rapture is to be distinguished from
the second coming. At the rapture, the Lord comes “in the
clouds” to meet us “in the air” (1 Thess. 4:17). At the second
coming, the Lord descends all the way to the earth to stand
on the Mount of Olives, resulting in a great earthquake
followed by a defeat of God’s enemies (Zechariah 14:3–4).
The doctrine of the rapture was not taught in the Old
Testament, which is why Paul calls it a “mystery” now
revealed: “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep,
but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an
eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the
dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed”
(1 Cor. 15:51–52).
The rapture of the church is a glorious event we should all
be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in
God’s presence forever. There is far too much debate over
the meaning and scope of the rapture. This is not God’s
intent. Rather, the rapture should be a comforting doctrine
full of hope; God wants us to “encourage each other with
these words” (1 Thess. 4:18).
"HOW CAN I BE READY TO BE CAUGHT UP IN THE
RAPTURE?" The short answer is that you must receive Jesus
Christ as your Savior. Now for the long answer. When you
ask this question, we assume that you have heard that not
all Christians will be taken when the Rapture occurs. You
probably have been told that only "super Christians" who
are living a holy life will be raptured, and all the other
Christians will have to suffer through the Tribulation. This is
not true, and we will show you why this is not true based
on the Scripture.
The first thing that you must understand is the purpose for
the Tribulation. The Tribulation is a time of judgment on the
earth and punishment for Israel. Please note that Israel and
the Church are not the same group of people.
The Church is a spiritual species. People in the Church are
related because of their spiritual birth (John 3:3). THE

PRIMARILY and that the Tribulation is for the unbelieving
WE CAN ALSO DEMONSTRATE FROM SCRIPTURE THAT
CHRISTIANS WILL NOT BE IN THE TRIBULATION (1 Thess.
4:13 - 5:9). Paul writes about the Rapture and the Day of the
Lord. First Thessalonians 5:9 gives Christians this promise:
"God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining
salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Pay close attention to this verse. Paul says God has not
destined us for wrath, specifically the wrath of the Day of
the Lord (5:2). Further evidence that Christians will not go
through the Tribulation comes from 1 Corinthians. In that
letter Paul sharply rebukes the believers for being carnal
Christians. But in chapter 15, Paul writes of the Rapture, and
he never indicates that any of the Corinthian believers,
carnal though they were, would be left behind.
True believers in Jesus Christ will not need to endure the
Tribulation. The only way you will BE LEFT BEHIND in the
Rapture is if you have not received Christ as your Savior.
This is the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news that God
provided the way for man to be freed from the penalty of
sin (John 14:6: Romans 6:23). But not all people will be
saved from hell; only those who place their faith in Jesus
will go to heaven when they die (Acts 4:12).
The punishment for the crime of sin is physical death
(Romans 6:23) and then an eternity spent in a place of
eternal punishment (Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:46).
This eternal separation from God is also called the “second
death” (Revelation 20:14–15). The fact that all are guilty of
sin and condemned to spend eternity in a place of torment
is very bad news. But God, because of His love for the world,
has made a way for man to be forgiven for their sins (John
3:16). He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the sins of man
on Himself through death on a cross (1 Peter 2:24).
In placing our sin on Christ, God ensured that all who will
believe in the name of Jesus will be forgiven (Acts 10:43).
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best news anyone will ever
hear, and what a person does with this news will determine
where he or she spends eternity. God is calling you to
choose life. Call on the name of the Lord and be saved today
(Romans 10:13)!

propitiation for the sins of the world (that includes yours!).
By grace, God provides eternal life to whoever will simply
believe in His Son. “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will
be saved…” (Acts 16:31, John 3:16).
We believe that eternal salvation is the gift of God received
upon the sinner's meritless faith in Jesus Christ whose
accomplished redemption on the Cross provided man's
reconciliation to God (John 3:15-16; 5:24; 6:40, 47; 20:31;
Acts 16:31; Romans 3:24-25; 5:11, 16; 2 Corinthians 5:18-
21; Ephesians 2:8-9).
The Bible says, “believe” and believing is not praying or
inviting Jesus into your heart. Once Saved, Always Saved.
Eternal Security. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are kept
secure forever. Once God the Father imputes His perfect
righteousness to a believer at salvation, it can never be
undone by anyone or anything. There is nothing you could
ever do and no sin you could ever commit which would
result in the loss of your salvation.
God desires all believers to have personal assurance of their
eternal security; this is truth that sets you free! We hold
that all believers are kept secure forever and each has the
right to personal assurance of this eternal security (John
10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38, 39; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 1 Thess. 5:23,
24; Hebrews 10:14; 1 John 5:1, 13).
