PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR QUEZON’S COOPERATIVE MONTH

CELEBRATION 2021 WITH BUDGET PLAN

I. RATIONALE

The world seemed to be stunned for months due to an unseen nemesis commonly
known as the Coronavirus disease that covertly sneaks into the lives of many that
eventually exterminates them by gradually weakening their immune systems and
respiratory capacities making their past ailments recur and worsen. Majority of the
world’s industries have to force stop their operations to give way for the containment
and put a stop to the spread of the disease. Industries such as the aviation have to
terminate their flights for some countries have closed their borders from foreign
tourists and visitors, supermalls and leisure areas temporarily have to foreclose, as
well as the stoppage of local public transport operations. Cooperatives, being a
machinery for poverty reduction and socioeconomic development in the country, were
also affected with the disease; some offices have to close for a while due to infected
personnel, to give way for sanitation and disinfecting procedures, and to contain the
spread of the virus in their actual workplaces.

With the advent of the global health crisis, cooperatives under the supervision of
the Cooperative Development Authority and the Department of Trade and Industry,
must devise ways and means that are tangible and vivid enough to still promote the
spirit of cooperativism amidst the threat of the global pandemic. Hence, the conduct of
the annual cooperative month celebration. This year’s theme of the celebration and
festivity of the cooperatives focuses on facing challenges and how hope can still be
seen in these changing times. The Municipal Cooperatives Development Council of
Quezon, being hailed as a hall of famer in the Governor Faustino N. Dy Awards in
outstanding cooperative councils, envisions to have a municipal celebration of the
cooperative month to heighten its member cooperatives in resiliency as well as to
foster cooperation and collaboration among its members especially in these times of
crisis.

Series of activities in a month-long celebration are hereby proposed coupled with

its budget plan for deliberation. Activity description and objectives were also detailed
in this proposal so as to specifically scan the deliverables to be undertaken in each of
the activity. The proposed activities stretch from simultaneous hanging of streamers,
simultaneous profile picture frame changing, logo making competition, webinar
series, bayanihan, and gift giving to infected and isolated individuals.
