Microbiology lab set up


When we enter micro lab 1st cabinet in which senetizer bottle are stuck on the wall
and sid by sid hot air like blour which strelize your hand.first Aid kit should be present
.personal protective equipment kit present in cabnit.

Step 1
Media preparation & instruments room

 Fridge
 Large D.H2O bottle
 Conductivity meter
 Microscope
 Colony counter
 Weight balance machine
 Hygroscopic meter
 Pippet
 Glass ware

Step2
Strelization room

 Autoclave
 Hot air oven
 Autoclave room present in a mid cabnit
 Most important thing is sample pass on cabnit to other cabnit by using passing box
 Pass box should be present in each cabnit of micro in pass box U. v light attached=
which kill the bacteria & control contamination anything is pass through box like

media preparation, chemicals glass ware. we do not direct these things through door
we pass through u.v pass box

Step 3

Inoculation room

 Biosafety cabinet

 Blour hot air

 Again, pass box

Step 4

Incubation room
 Most important thing is Temperature maintain i.e. 23celcius
 Water bath 44.5 Celsius maintain temperature
 Technological incubator by optics

Step5

Discard room
 All material after testing go on discard room through pass box
 All plates autoclave
 Tubes clean through hot water & rims D.H20
 Now strelize tube in autoclave

 Remove footwear outside the laboratory
 Laboratory gown oe apron should be used compulsory
 Instruction should be given in the lab should be noted and followed carefully
 Eating and drinking is not allowed in lab
 Nothing should be put in the mouth
 Hair shouldbe covered with cap
 Foot should be covered with cover

 Doors and windows should be kept closed during experiment
 External material should be kept in drawer or cabnit
 Working area should be kept free from all external material
 Hands should be properly before and after each task
 The banch top should be disinfected
Before and after each lab work
 Avoide aerosol formation

 Talking,laughing should be avoided


 Contaminated material should placed into a proper container
 Culture plates tubes should be discarded in basket
 Allmicrobial culture should be eighter incubated or refrigerated
 Pipettes glass rods should be properly disinfected or strelized after each used
 Strelize wire loop
 All lab instruments shouldbe operated as per standerd operatingprocedure
 Handle Bunsen burner with care
