Introduction

When we speak of an intellectual property we make reference to all the set of rights

that correspond to the author of a work in relation to the inventions or creation made

in his mind, and that when being exposed to the world becomes a condonation to

the creator are, drawings, marks, industrial designs, models of marketing,

commercial secrets, all these subjects have been treated in the present activity, to

know their generalities, handling and benefits of each one.

The details of the types of intellectual property, how they work, their registration and

control entity in Colombia will be exposed through infograms and videos.

Objectives

✓ Know the power of intangible assets in regard to Intellectual Property as a

basis for the consolidation of all the necessary concepts for the course of

Technology Valuation and Negotiation.

✓ Understand the meaning and importance of intellectual property and its forms

like patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs and trade secrets.

✓ Work as a team for the choice of problems that companies have when

registering their intellectual property.

✓ Recognize the problems that limit companies in the registration of their

intellectual property and choose a special one to delve into its causes,

consequences and solution proposals.

Conclusions

✓ Regardless of the field in which we find ourselves, be it literary, scientific,

industrial or artistic, the creator has the right to exploit or not his creation. In

this way, intellectual property defends precisely that authorship, thus

preventing third parties, totally unconnected with the creation, from benefiting

from it.

✓ Within the intellectual property we can find two categories. On the one hand

we would have the industrial property. This category refers to inventions,

patents, industrial models, etc. We can say that this type of intellectual

property gives the right to exploit these inventions in the business and

industrial environment. In this way, companies can benefit from them to seek

a little differentiation to their customers.
